Rear brake seem to be grabbing harder than fronts

What @Turbo4whl said. LSPV or Load Sensing Proportioning Valve. The trucks with 13" drums are quite aggressive when unloaded. Unfortunately those valves and their linkages are scarce today. So you'll probably have to use a manual one as suggested.

What have you done to your square lately??

The switches just suck. The factory one on my '85 failed, and I changed it when I rebuilt the Xfer case. It doesn't work anymore either. I like having everything working correctly, but changing a switch every other year to turn on a light that tells me something I already know isn't worth my time.

    1982 k20 quad shock

I can only speak to stock systems, but GM balanced two shocks for their quad option. Quads show two different shocks per corner than the one for the dual shock option. The aftermarket usually uses their standard single shock and adds a supplement. It takes homework and research, mostly...

What have you done to your square lately??

Is yours a limited slip? Not that it matters much. I did a lot of work on my 14-bolt SF, since it had pretty much self destructed. After putting all the pieces back together I installed synthetic gear oil and it's been fine for over 100K miles since. I should mention that my ring and pinion...

    6.2L - new IP, still won't start

Really long shot, and since it didn't run before, it's not likely, but it is possible to assemble the injection pump with the driveshaft 180° out of time. If you end up pulling the pump out again, I can explain how you can air time it to check for this.

    6.2L - new IP, still won't start

Unless somebody cranked the engine while the pump was out it's unlikely the gear teeth skipped time. OTOH, if somebody did that, it could have sheared the key on the camshaft. Would explain a lot.

Looks good! I don't suppose you'd like to share the name of this miracle product, would you?

6.2 diesel loosing 12v on the IP shutoff solenoid

You probably mixed up the wires for the shutoff solenoid and the cold advance solenoid. Fat red wire goes to the terminal on top of the pump cover. Small green goes to the one on the side of the cover.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

Navistar fixed most of the mistakes they made on the 6.0 when they designed the 6.4. Then they promptly piled a ton of new mistakes on it. Ford compounded the problem by designing a vehicle where the cab was basically poured on top of the engine and allowed to harden. The manual for 90% of...

Painted the valve cover for my civic. I think you guys might like it.

I'm impressed. With all of it. Not just the valve cover.

That's really nice, but how are you going to engage the transfer case?

How do new cars connect to internet ?

Analog OnStar died a long time ago when cellular networks went digital. So did the analog cell phones. Was there a class action suit requiring them to replace all the obsoleted phones? Technology changes. Don't expect anyone in the business of selling new products to keep your old ones working...

How do new cars connect to internet ?

I'm fairly certain it's cellular based. Satellite is still pretty pricey for something as mundane as uploading your tire pressures.

What have you done to your square lately??

This. My cars have car steering wheels. When I'm driving a truck I want to know it's a truck. Ever sit in a Mack? That steering wheel makes our truck steering wheels look like they're from a car. Not that the wheel is the only indicator in my truck. The ride is a dead giveaway too. Do those...

    Our accord totalled.

Glad she's okay. I had a guy on an Accord pull out in front of the K20 once. It went from Accord to Accordion in under two seconds. Bent my license plate something awful.

    Frame Differences 350L 350M

K20s came in two versions. The heavier version was the C6P which used thicker steel. So, whichever 350 is the heavy duty version would have the heavier frame. There's a more involved discussion of frames here: https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/revisiting-k10-vs-k20-vs-k30-frame-specs.11279/

Why does that square sticker look squatted? I thought you were in TX, not Carolina. ;)

What new tools have you got lately?

Unless you're running a lot of refrigeration or some other big power hog, 14kW is a lot of generator for most houses. You'll have to work out your loads tho. Don't just spitball it. Too much generator is almost as bad as too little.

    Hydro boost failure

We never had an accumulator go boom, but I believe the seal failures were a chemical compatibility problem. Maybe too much detergent in the ATF? We switched to PS fluid and the truck still has the same hydroboost in it from the mid '80s.

    Hydro boost failure

FWIW, we had two hydroboosts fail when the truck was new. Turned out that despite GM's recommendation to use Dexron, you needed Power Steering Fluid. Changed to PS fluid and the failures stopped. Did the O.P. change the fluid when he changed the booster? Maybe a problem was installed.

    Hydro boost failure

It's a hydraulic actuator, full of oil. Of course it can leak into the cab. Ask me how I know.
