    Bed support

Lots of metal work and paint prep to do on the bed. Had to remove it anyway to paint the back of the cab and front of the bed. Made these to park it at working height. Break down for storage as space is always at a premium around here. Thanks to Tractor Supply for all the free steel from their...

    Homemade and modified tool thread

Its a one off. The 80 Rockwell rollers were from a 70’s pressure fusing copier, none around anymore. Here‘s a few alternatives, some powered, some hand crank. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1311&_nkw=grain+mill+grinder&_sacat=0

    Radiator cap.

Issue w/ bumping pressure on many vehicles is the heater core can’t deal w/ it. Trust me you don’t want to go there. Lower is safe.

    Heater fan

Already scrolled thru 20+ discussions and no mention of this. 74 K20, heater control worked as its designed-low medium high speed fan. In the process of painting firewall I see the 3 wire connection at the fan box has a low resistance coil of wire between 2 leads. There’s also a cut wire going...

    Removing Door Mirror Anchors

My 74 just has SM screws threaded into the skin. Reworked them today. Oversized the hole and went with stainless fine thread. Tapped the holes. Yours look like the option is drill them out.

    Shout out to suppliers.

A big shout out to both LMC & Classic Parts. Order full cab weather stripping, window fuzzies, tail lights, arm rests, repair panels. Great turn around from both. No shortages or wrong items. Really helps move a project along when parts show up on or ahead of schedule.

I know the fuel resistor is 90ohms but what is the wattage

I=V/R Solve for your case I= .13 amps. But thats not the full circuit. Youve also got the variable resistor of the tank sending unit. Ive not researched the circuit, but any time a ceramic resistor is involved its rated a minimum of 5 watts.

    Door Weatherstrip Install

Reading between the lines on the door weatherstripping it sounds like LMC nor any other supplier is not the original style that locks onto the pinch weld. Can anyone confirm? I almost ordered last night, now Im in holding pattern to confirm correct design. Even w/ the OEM product the integrity...

    Nit Picking and Just Curious

Typical fuel boils in the bowl after you stop, drops into the intake. When it gets bad you’ll need to hold the pedal to the metal & crank longer than needed to dry it out. Beyond the basics of float properly adjusted, phenolic carb spacer may block the heat transfer from the heads. It’s worse w/...

Please Help me get this truck going!

Im reading that 87’s have catalytic converters. Sounds like your on track, but if you cant resolve it the cat(s) could be plugged. Even a little coolant in the exhaust will hasten their collapse.

    front fender gap

Making progress, both fenders have decent gaps. Hood is drying, but will require more work. Didn't see the hail damage. Fitment of turn lenses couldn't be much worse. I’ll section out the supporting valance stand offs to bring into alignment.
