    Thats a good point. Mine was cut in the engine bay. I had to run a new line through the fire wall. I also had some leaks with the plastic switching valve on the controller. This was after connecting the new vacuum line.

    When my truck had the same problem the AC control unit wasn't getting any vacuum to the switch. I would start with pulling the control unit out and checking that you have a good vacuum source to the switch.     The truck is like a time machine. I would hate to see it go to someone that will ruin a solid stock truck. I can see it now dropped ,tubed and LS swapped. That would be a shame IMHOP.

    They look like the brackets. I think they would be bolted to the head or block for lifting. I guess technically they are.

    Thanks for the part number. I would consider removing the stock hooks for the hitch. I had to cut the new air dam that i bought so it would clear the hooks. My bumper brackets are tweaked a little to the driver's side. I may have to fix them. I've looked at those hooks also. I bought the part...

    Thanks. Installing a front hitch is on my project list. I have one of those steps that go over the tire. The hood gets in the way using it. I usually use a portable work platform, it's much better than a step ladder. The bumper step is perfect for when you are on the road.

    Is that a swing out step on the front or one mounted in a receiver hitch? Its a cool idea either way.

    1987 sbc long block valve cover oil cap

    I have the same covers on my truck. The cap has an O-ring and some course threads on it. Try and look for a 86-92 F body cap or early 90's truck cap.

    I'm thinking on some aftermarket distributors they come with a lock out plate that keeps you from running any vacuum advance. A lot of drag race cars are run with no vac. advance. Some guys weld stop on the stock plates.

    I also added a sill plate to cover up some rust. I cut these with a cut off wheel. I used double sided tape to attach them. I couldn't see paying $$ for the ones from LMC.     I added an air dam to my truck. It didn't add as much in the looks department as I hoped for. I had to cut into 3 pieces in order for it to clear the tow (recovery) hooks.     I'm in the same boat. I have 3 totes full of mags, mostly from the early 90's to 04. Mostly Chevy Hi performance, Super Chevy, and Car Craft. I also have some how to build a Camaro books.
