Haynes manual suggest silicone dielectric grease for ignition module?

As a side note I always put a dab of the silicon grease on my spark plug wires. It keeps them from sticking to the plugs and or cap terminals.

    Windshield Wiper Harness

Good morning everyone. Has anybody found a vender that sells a replacement connecter for the windshield wiper motor assy. I have been having issues with my wipers for a long time. I have even attached a separate ground from the wiper motor to a bolt on the fire wall. It's hit or miss if they...

    HF plastic welding kit

I have used JB plastic weld 2 part epoxy in the past. It worked good on my door panels. I also have tried on the splash panel. It holding together on the work bench, have't got around to installing it. I think it will crack again because the panel flexs

Need a inline fuel pump for Carbed 350, what brand/ part?

I bought a Jeg's brand Mech. pump. It cost about $50. It failed within a few weeks. I took it apart and it was defective. The pump arm moved off the diaphragm and carnage ensued. I bought an Edelbrock pump it was $120. Ouch! I' ve not had any problems since.

    Exhaust options for a 1990 suburban 4x4?

I used the Dynomax kit on my truck. I had all the connections welded at the local muffler shop. The pipes exiting the rear are not the same. There is some difference in the bends. The kit I used the pipes are bent to go around the spare tire under the bed. I also had to fab a couple of...

What have you done to your square lately??

The lowered trucks and 20" wheels are all the rage here in the greater Houston area. Everyone wants a hotrod and not a real working truck. It's become boring. JMHOP.

    Are pneumatic tools obselete?

It all depends on the specific application. The quality of the air tool, and the size of the compressor. I have both. I don't know what we did before the Dewalt battery tools when working in the petrol chemical plants here in Texas. ( insert brand name here) Oh I know we had to drag a...

    86" K-10 Values

Very clean truck. If it was 2 wheel drive the price would be through the roof here in the Houston area. Dropped short bed trucks are all the rage here. I don't see many K series in my neighborhood. I'm one of the few. Yours is a lot cleaner than mine. Good luck with it.

Do I rebuild my SBC or swap for an LS3?

My Gen 1 350 runs great with the Vortech heads, long tubes , Eddy carb , and a Jegs intake. I spent the $$ and went with a hyd. roller from GM it's the HT 383 cam. I've thought about adding FI, but can't justify the cost.

I just bought a new one for 70.00  . Rock Auto. I had to get one from a different year truck, the picture showed a 3 port. I also splurged , and bought a new gas cap.

Do I rebuild my SBC or swap for an LS3?

In all reality I like the idea of the HT 383 from GM if it were Me. Thats what I'm going to do when my crate 350 bites the dust. The prices have gone up on them. JOE did that!!!

Do I rebuild my SBC or swap for an LS3?

I vote for a carb LS build. I like the LS engines I've built several for my Camaro. They are simple to work on a 10mm ,13 mm and 15 mm are about all the wrench sizes that you need. The captive gaskets, o rings are nice they don't leak. They make big power for their size. They are very durable...

1977 k10 "trailering special" factory receiver hitch pictures

I bought a Draw Tite class 4 hitch from the yard for $ 20. It was mounted on a square body 2 WD frame. I'm not sure of the year truck. I had to make 2x2 square tubing spacer blocks for the hitch to clear the bumper on my K-10. It bolted on with Three 1/2" bolts per side. Two out of the 3 bolt...

    LMC Headliner question

My head liner is already dropping. The fabric is pulling away from the plastic backing. It's only been installed about a year. It still looks ok compared to the original, But disappointing for the cost. Stuff like that really makes you appreciate the factory equipment and its durability. On...

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced the front spring to shackle bushings yesterday. They were a red poly type, looked they had been on the truck for 20 years. The bushings really weren't bad, just dry. The driver's side bolt was undercut at the head from rust. The steel sleeves were in bad shape. It took a little...

    Intermittent Starting Problems

The pinging was above idle speeds and putting around driving. It was more pronounced when accelerating and under a load which makes sense. It was like at the cross over point when mechanical advance was coming in and the vacuum advance was falling off. I'm going to check the initial timing one...

    Intermittent Starting Problems

The can is on manifold vacuum. The tires are 33's. I was thinking about adding a 1" spacer. The AFR goes rich whenever the throttle is opened. I can richen up the idle with a turn of the carb screws. I agree the 308's are the wrong application for this build. The truck originally was a 305 700R...

    Intermittent Starting Problems

I had an intermittent starting problem for a few weeks. I haven't been daily driving the truck for a while. With the summer finally over here in Texas I was wanting to drive it to work. I use it for doing the dirty work at home and it's the high-water vehicle. On several occasions it would start...
