Well I accidentally bought a Jeep

I see a lot of jeeps, they are very popular around here. I’d love to do a modest build on one.

Steering box frame reinforcement weld in plates

There were no cracks in my ‘78, I inspected it thoroughly. Added the plates after the frame sand blast.

    TH400--Steel Transmission Lines VS Flexible

The trans lines aren’t difficult, they just run along beside the oil pan then bend up to the radiator. Use the small S style clips to keep them together. The correct flexible lines with the right fittings are probably going to be more expensive than the pre bent lines from LMC…

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

I know you’ve got old lines with seized connections but you’re gonna have to get some loose to find out where the brake fluid is.. or isn’t when the brakes are applied. Use the proper line wrenches. Replacement lines are readily available, or you can bend your own. Always use anti-seize on the...

    D70 spindle nut socket?

I just went through that a few months ago on my 14 bolt. Mine were in bad shape, I was able to get them loose with a punch. I replaced all of them with the square ones that are currently available and fit my socket.

    Name brand or budget carb?

It sounds like he’s already got a square bore intake though… Whatever you choose don’t go with too big of a carb…

How can i separate my rotor from hub? Looks like its all one piece need help!

“Burnishing” the shoes of drum brakes is from way back in the day.. and is still advised for trailers, especially large heavy RVs. I do it after a brake rebuild on my fifthwheel trailer. Disc brakes, I’m sure it’s advised but probably hardly ever done in todays world.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I got this old pump many years ago from a small marina on a lake in central KY. I have friends that have the older visible style pumps, but I’m not that old and never used them. This is the style that was used when I learned to drive. It took a lot of work to get it back to this shape.. it’s...

What are you using to paint wing window frames

A big powder coating facility is among the many things I take care of in my job at a manufacturing company, I’ll definitely be getting mine done.

Most affordable shipping for body panels?

I’ll get up there to AMD Thurs or Fri Let’s see how many parts I can get in a fifth wheel

Most affordable shipping for body panels?

Depending on how big of a box a bed side comes in, I believe I could do it.. Is there a sales counter there at AMD, or will I have to arrange it by phone or Email?

Most affordable shipping for body panels?

Im pretty sure it wouldn’t fit… maybe strapped to the ladder? I’m here all week so I’ll be exploring my options

Most affordable shipping for body panels?

I’m on vacation right now, and AMD is less than a hour away from me… but I don’t have anywhere in my rig to haul a bed side home. A fifthwheel hitch takes up a lot of space in a dually. :)

Get a “Slim Jim” tool, I’ve used it to get hoods open in the past.

Transfer case support brace. Who got one to sell?

I got lucky the guy I bought my 208 from just had the brace laying there with it.. there was no mention of it in his ad. It’s 36 1/2” works good with the TH400 and an aftermarket adapter. Fabbing one certainly wouldn’t be difficult, mild steel would be adequate.

Most affordable shipping for body panels?

I’m about 8 hrs away from LMC going west, 8 hrs from AMD going south. I’m getting ready to need a long bed side among a bunch of other body parts so I’ll certainly consider possibly scheduling a pickup and driving to avoid shipping charges.

Turbo 400 with rad cooler what lines are you using

I used the set from LMC, they’re for a TH400, they fit just fine. Any line set you buy is going to need a little tweaking… get the little S clips with them.

Fuel Pump Sending Unit Main Harness

On my 78 there are two separate harnesses. The tank wiring is a round plug that goes up the drivers side frame rail and enters the cab below the accelerator cable.

Trash my dash? And interior panel take offs?

Do mean in this kind of condition? I never once thought about saving these, I just haven’t had a chance to toss them in the dumpster. My workshop space is too limited to waste it on something that I don’t have current need for.

Sanderson BB8-P headers on a 454 in a crew cab dually

A private equity firm named Sentinel Capital Partners bought the vast majority of those companies a few years ago. That’s when things really changed in the automotive aftermarket world.
