At wits end over my 1984 C10

I used to Jump my truck like this. I ordered a fancy mini starter. Its solenoid died. So I said, fuck it. I’m not buying another summit “hi-torq” starter. I’ll do it like this. My brother wanted to drive my truck said he’d jumped starters plenty of times. welp he grounded it out in a bad way. I...

    Thoughts?

I’m interested to watch and see if it actually sells. The steering column and dash together irritate me. But some people I’m sure don’t care. I just don’t get the point of a classic if you go this far out of the realm.

    Thoughts?

I hate to see a 74 switched to the 81+ front end. I KNOW people have asked about a dash swap on these to the 01+ style. So I guess this answers some questions. So without further ado... for your consideration.

    visor worth anything?

The GMT400 have a visor that wraps around the cab lights so you can have both.... that would be slick for the Squares.

At wits end over my 1984 C10

Did you test to see if the starter was getting voltage while cranking? if not then your issue lies in the wiring. NSS, that little plug with the purple wire above the steering column will make the no start. Ignition switch?

So...Ordered the tow mirrors and now realize...

Course that is the best answer. I was pretty pissed when I did mine. Seeing as how I welded up some old tow mirror holes and JUST had the truck painted.

Texas is so damn big. My 1/2 way point to my destination in Texas was IN TEXAS.

So...Ordered the tow mirrors and now realize...

Why not paint a rivet red. Then snap them in. I ordered some aftermarket mirrors. They didn’t work for shit. Turned out dude sent me the 67-72 mirrors. had to redrill the holes. I plugged the “wrong”’holes with SS rivets.

    Crossover steering clearance issue

This kinda idea but just do the one you need. Try to ignore the fact that this thing probably has bump steer like a MFer

    Crossover steering clearance issue

Why not swap that ball joint for a Rod end? It’ll give you the clearance you need. There used to be some debate on using them for steering in DD trucks. I’m not sure if that’s settled now. But I have used them for link arms and never had an issue. Just buy a quality arm and a small spacer.

81 step side dual tank help

If you have a mechanical pump. You make that pump into this surge tank instead of the carburetor or TB. If you have inline pumps. You make this pump in after the selector valve. The house that usually goes to the TB move it to pump into this.

    Adjusting your headlights

I prefer the wall/ garage door setup as well. I Pull up close too the wall and mark off a + at the center of the beam. pull back 20 feet or so and make the beam hit just under the + and a little to the right on both sides.

Underhood sender and wiring pics wanted.

I think this is golden information. If I coiled a copper line like the 70s and seen a picture of a slick ass SS braided line setup. I’d kick myself for not bringing the capillary tube into the 2000s. But I dunno is that advice... or... a suggestion? I dunno....

81 step side dual tank help

You need the 87+ tank because it has the baffles built in for a fuel pump. That works too if he wants to maintain as much factory parts as possible. But I think the 87 tanks 255 pumps and the Delphi selector all look more natural and cleaner.

81 step side dual tank help

The TBI setup alone is not enough to run an LS engine. You need to mount a Walboro 255 style pump onto the TBI sender. It’s easy peasy. Then You’ll have the 65ish psi you need. Also I’m running one of those delphi tank selectors on the same pump up to 65 psi and it handles it just fine.

    78 K-10 Dual Tank Install

@gmachinz makes a whole plug n play wiring kit. Comes with the selector valve and dash switch. You gotta run the plumbing for the fuel lines tho.
