    What is this part called?

sorry i realize some of explanations are as clear a mud at times. I will try to clarify a bit. let's look at the booster in two different modes of operation first your foots not on the pedal brakes are not applied , at this stage the booster is a sealed system has vacuum from the engine but...

84 C10 charcoal canister line question

yes that's from the float bowl. No the earlier models had a simpler charcoal canister that only did the gas tank/s. Your best bet is to probably cap that line at the canister or use the older style canister.

    What is this part called?

This filter has no effect on the booster itself at least as far as life expectancy. IMHO changing the filter will have no effect on engine vacuum it is basically a sealed system except when braking. If the filter is extremely plugged it might reduce vacuum to the booster requiring...

    What is this part called?

OK that filter is not a bad thing to have. think of you brake booster as a big vacuum leak. during its operation fresh air enters it from the back side from under the dash. it eventually makes its way through the booster and into your engine. The booster has a cheap crappy foam sponge filter...

AFR Tuning- Old skool vs. New school

I agree modern fuels dont give good plug readings.. go with the O2 AFR reading. It also gives you the ability to tune off idle and power circuits that plug reading could never show, for us guys with carbs.

    signal light problems

grounds can look good and be deceiving. Use a test light or volt meter, clip to ground and the probe touch it to the base of the bulb, if it lights you have a bad ground , if it doesn't then the ground is good.

What have you done to your square lately??

I have always removed the inner cable wiped it down and then lubed it with transmission fluid. you dont want a heavy oil or grease because it will affect it during cold weather.

What have you done to your square lately??

actually i played with the jetting on the holley. if it was rich enough to eliminate the idle to main stumble then it was too rich in the power circuit. i figure the only cure was an aftermarket metering block, once it gets that complicated then what's the point of using a holley. yes a Qjet...
