Let's see those 4x4 Squares On Dirt!

This is Church. Its like 4 trucks in one. Took a kid under my wing and showed him how to combine a couple of vehicles into one. One of these days I'll gather up my photos and make a thread about it cuz it was an adventure. Probably went through three spools of wire patching it together. This...

Code thrown but not for my year/MAP issue

@gmbellew the number on the EGR in my burb says 17087194 and I got excited. So looking at my local parts store options they have an AC Delco with the part number you gave me but the number on my burb is listed as the same. I'm still gonna pull it out to compare and look though when I won't be...

Code thrown but not for my year/MAP issue

Thanks for the part number! Yes, all the stumbling and stuttering stopped when I unplugged and blocked the hose between the EGR solenoid and the EGR. Previously I tested the EGR with vacuum and it killed the engine when I applied vacuum, and held vacuum fine when testing while not running. I...

Code thrown but not for my year/MAP issue

Hey if its not gonna cause a problem I'm fine with it. I found its a very common opinion. And right now its working. I read about that here and in some other places. Positive, negative and pulse or something like that. There may really be something to this because the previous owner put in a...

91 burb runs terrible in reverse

Some may know but I started a thread about a map sensor issue. As I've been making my way figuring out the issues I found that when I unplugged my EGR the burb ran normal and alleviated all of the stuttering at low throttle application in reverse. Before unplugging the EGR it was starting to do...

Code thrown but not for my year/MAP issue

After threatening the burb with the parts cannon I whimpered at the idea of spending money when I didn't need to so I went out and started fiddling with stuff. As I was wiggling some things and checking to see if anything changed I decided to pull the vacuum line off of my EGR. Well that did it...

Code thrown but not for my year/MAP issue

Ya that's exciting. Going to be going back through all that stuff a third or fourth time now. Just to recap whats been replaced.. CTS, MAP, ICM, EGR solenoid, cap, wires, plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, many new vacuum lines. All AC Delco where applicable. Previous vacuum check showed correct...

Code thrown but not for my year/MAP issue

Yes I can thread them in by hand. I used some wire brushes I have for spray gun equipment and it worked pretty good to get in there and cleaned it out well. I'm impatiently waiting for the anti fouler's so I put in the hotter plugs and went for a spin. Didn't get 100 ft down the road before I...

Code thrown but not for my year/MAP issue

So I finally got back around to this. The truck has about 30 minutes of drive time over 2 trips. The last trip to the store it was starting to Buck a little bit in Reverse again. It didn't act that way at all and forward gears though. Here's the plugs that are problems. From left to right is...

Factory power steering cooler? 1991 Suburba

My 91 burb doesn't but it was originally a half ton. Maybe an option or just not 1/2 tons?

    Hood latch

Pretty sure you'd have to swap all the pieces from an earlier model. But radiator supports being different may make it a no go unless you want to fab something up. I usually hear people going the other way and looking to swap to the inside release because of theft or whatnot. Just curious, why...

What new tools have you got lately?

It was my Christmas present so I never knew the cost, dang. I cant tell you how many times I wished my multi meter put out 12v. If you can't spend the money talk somebody into getting one for you for a gift.

Lawn/ Garden tractors/ Riding Mowers, Cool Mods and tinkering

Bought it from an old man. The guy barely used it and then got so up there in age that he had to hire somebody to come do his lawn and they used all their own equipment. His ad was for $500 bucks and when I went to go get it he canceled at the last minute because something was wrong with it. He...

Lawn/ Garden tractors/ Riding Mowers, Cool Mods and tinkering

Here's mine. After building gokarts and such it takes every bit of my discipline to not modify this thing for the fun of it. I've done good so far just keeping it an appliance.

    Lower steering shaft

By lower shaft do you mean the part from firewall-ish area down to the steering box with a joint on both ends and a collapsible center? Or just the lower half of the collapsible section?

    Rocker question

Just cut out the bad and put in not as bad. No sweat. Mwahaha. Extra points for using the wrong model floor parts to patch it. It was worse on the passenger side because it sat for close to 15 years at an angle and all the water gathered there and leaked out.

1985 K5 blazer, do they have rocker boxes?

When I cut up and patched the floor on a 78 k5 it didn't have any. Hoping you can see that it's not there. Just the rocker and a backer piece

‘83 K5- seeking design and material ideas on bed side panels and compartments for storage

@CountKrunk Blazerbill asked about materials. And if storage was created. K5s and burbs are different in the back panel area. K5 shows the inside of the bedsides when you pull the side covers off, burb don't so there's no open space. @BlazerBill we took a plastic bed cover and cut it down to...

‘83 K5- seeking design and material ideas on bed side panels and compartments for storage

I used wood paneling in my burb. It was flexible but rigid enough. Didn't make any pockets or shelf though. Just covered it with padding and wrapped it in some apolstry fabric that was close.
