    Replacement seat upholstery

Check Rockauto and brother's trucks. I really like what I saw on Rockauto the other day.

    Write up: Gas Tank Relocation

I'll be doing mine like this, but exiting on the driver side. I also have one of those spring-loaded flip-down license plate brackets like the old Pontiac Gran Prix's used but I'm not sure if the tank can be clocked with the filler neck facing the rear bumper or not. I think the 25 gallon tank...

Engine mods on an 86 4x4 for towing a 3000lb. travel trailer???

Find a wrecked Z71 and go ahead and drop the coin for an LS and 4L60e and computer. Maybe go for 4.11 gears, rear overload springs and a rear anti sway bar and I would be confident pulling that camper anywhere. I saw somewhere swapping an LS into a vehicle with the heavy smog equipment of the...

    B&S Mower Help

Try resetting the airgap of the coil to the magneto. 2 or 3 $1 bills can be used to set the gap. Just slide a couple bucks between the coil and magneto, loosen the coil mount bolts, turn the magneto and the coil should pop over and stick to the magneto's magnets with the bills sandwiched in...

Restoring my dad's '86 Custom Deluxe

Still need to know tire size and what your optimum cruise speed is going to be, and what rpm range your engine setup will be. For example 4.56 with 35" tires and a 700R4, plan on turning around 2200 or 2400 rpm around 70mph. Any hills with a heavy trailer you may have to run 3rd gear. Then you...

Restoring my dad's '86 Custom Deluxe

Welcome to the forum, and post up pics! The gear ratio will depend on tire size and what rpm you want to cruise at, and what speed. And that depends on how you're achieving 500hp.

    got a square body!!!!!!!! s10

Paint looks great, Chris! I didn't know you could paint, might have to pick your brain about a paint job. I'm thinking forest green metallic on the camo truck. But you can't do metallic paints as single stage can you? The summit paint kits look like the slick ticket. BTW I really like the back...

Welding Rear 12 bolt GM axle

 I been around, posting here and there! Doing a lot of overtime at work, trying to help out sick relatives and get on a good coyote hunt when I can. For the OP, get a Lock-Right or a Yukon lunchbox locker. The money will be worth the trade-off of headache avoided.

Welding Rear 12 bolt GM axle

I do not recommend welding a c-clip rear end. If your side gears are welded to the spider gears you'll have a hell of a time getting the axleshaft c-clips in/out.

Squeaking from driver's front wheel area

If the truck ever sat for a while one of the wheel bearings may have flat-spotted. They get a little rust on one of the rollers and then it takes a while for it to show up.

    Rockers and floors

I would start with "low" and 1, and 3-4 for wire speed. Wire speed affects heat in the way, slow is hotter than fast. Slow gives more arc and fast gives more wire keeping it cooler. You want that sound of frying bacon and good penetration, not just gobs of wire sitting on top of your panels...

    Not new, looking for somebody

Hey what's up? Still got the trucks but so much other crap going on I haven't done much with them. Everybody has their hand out for their part of my paycheck lol.

    Paintsville, KY Cruise 'N

Saw this on craigslist and was wondering if it was being put on by someone from here? Looks like the logo the forum was working on a while back? https://huntington.craigslist.org/cto/6101552165.html

    Hub Extremely Hot and Wobbles

The 1st nut is supposed to have a small locating pin, most shear off. The washer is supposed to have holes all around it to align (close enough) with the locating pin. I think there is a different version of the washer that has tabs that bend over the nut to lock it in place. Neither in my...

I would still like to know if there is an external pump option, like the one I posted earlier.

    fitech install om 77 c10

Although I agree carrying a carb and all the stuff to switch it over doesn't appeal to me, an in-tank pump doesn't either. Is there an external pump option? When I searched RockAuto for a 1996 Chevy K1500 fuel pump I noticed this one listed with the others, will it supply enough PSI/GPH? If not...

Want 4 wheel disc have a 14blt FF trying to use as much GM stuff as i can

I used Offroad Design's brackets... http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/14FFdisckit.htm And 1/2 ton front calipers, pads and rubber lines. I welded large washers to my top leaf spring plates to mount the rubber lines to. I re-used the wheel studs I removed from the hubs, I know that's supposed to...

    fitech install om 77 c10

Awesome man, glad you figured it out. 2 degrees BTDC doesn't sound like much timing though. Guess it just depends on your cam's profile.

    fitech install om 77 c10

Dieselling is usually a result of timing too far advanced, and/or gas boiling off from a lean condition. If the plugs are black then it's definitely too rich, but if they're gray or brown it is lean. I'll have to have my fuel system 100% lined out before I jump onto the Fi-train, as much...

    fitech install om 77 c10

Thanks for the update. I'm just grateful you're running down all the shit that can go wrong before I pull the trigger on the setup lol. If the manifolds are glowing red I would think it was running lean?

    C30 dually to k30 SWD

Front spring perches would have to be welded in for the front axle, as well as the shackle mounts for the rear of the front springs, and it has to be done very accurately. Steering components will have to change like the steering box, unless you want to run crossover steering. A lot of cutting...

    4.10 to 4.56 or 4.88

Here's a chart from Grimm Jeeper with the 700R4, NP208 (at 1:1), 35" tires, and on the left is 4.10 gears and on the right is 4.88. Should help you see what to expect, looks like closer to 2300 rpm at 70 mph. If your 4.10 rpms match the chart when it downshifts, I would go ahead and pull the...

    4.10 to 4.56 or 4.88

After thinking about it, is the transmission downshifting to 3rd, back to OD, back to 3rd, etc...or is the tc just switching between locked and unlocked? When you're on the highway and it seems like it has downshifted, pull the shifter into 3rd (D). If it actually downshifts at that point it may...

    77 K10 5.3 NV4500 swap

Did you buy the engine/trans as a package and if so how much did it set you back? What vehicle was the donor? C1 pin 35 is for when you press the clutch with cruise control on it will make the cruise control kick off. Clutch Start Switch M/T is for the clutch interlock when starting, leaving it...
