Might be wise to start buying bicycles and skateboards. The resale price on them is going to skyrocket once people can't afford cars.

    Valve adjustment question

I think I'm going to mark the distributor at every spark plug wire location and adjust both intake and exhaust on the cylinder that the rotor is pointing to.

    Valve adjustment question

Doing it with the cover off would be my last choice. Oil all over the engine bay is not something I want to deal with. I'll watch the video above and see if I can do it that way. I've got all the nuts loosened up with wiggle in the valves. Hopefully I can get to it tomorrow.

What have you done to your square lately??

Received the replacement ignition coil today. Once again they shipped it in a bag and not a box. The screws and nuts were all over the shipping bag. Fortunately I don't need them, and the coil was in one piece. Got the coil and the ignition control module installed easily. Turned the ignition on...

What have you done to your square lately??

I have to post to page 1000 of this thread. LOL. I was going to install a new ignition coil that I received in the mail today until I opened the box. I'm disappointed that they shipped it in a bag and not a cardboard box.

    Valve adjustment question

I've seen two different ways to adjust hydraulic valves like the ones in my 250 I6. One was to set the Harmonic Balancer at TDC and adjust certain valves, then move the HB 180* and adjust the rest. The other way was to mark the HB at six equal positions starting at TDC and adjust each cylinder's...

The Future of Battery Electric Vehicles (and I don't like them)

I've heard (don't know how true it is) that if the batteries have to be replaced it's in the $15,000 range. Nothing on my 3 "gas guzzlers" is even close to that.

    A clutch pedal adjustment question

Thanks Turbo4whl. Amazon had a Dorman version for under $9. I don't normally go with Dorman but all i need is the worn piece. If it turns out to be inferior I'll go with one of the other brands. Thought about that Idahovette but I don't have a welder.

    A clutch pedal adjustment question

For years I've put up with the clutch pedal going almost all the way to the floor to shift gears so I thought I'd try to make an adjustment. I got underneath and pulled the adjustment piece and noticed what looked like a worn spot. I'm attaching a picture. Is this worn or was it originally like...

What have you done to your square lately??

New spark plugs and wires, new oil and filter, and finally adjusted the valves. All but 3 were sloppy. It was interesting how much old gasket material was in the area around the oil drains. I was going to replace the valve cover (250 straight 6) but for the life of me I couldn't find an 11 bolt...
