    Working over a motor

That makes a lot of sense to me. Which would also mean that I could keep my current cam which is in fantastic shape and the lifters look good as new. I got it all pulled apart and the only thing I am finding concerning is the bearings. I'll jump to the mobile and post the pictures up.

    Working over a motor

I got around to digging more into the motor today. Found that my main bearings should be replaced (seeing some copper coloring through) which means I might as well do rod bearings, and at that point everything... So my quick warm over is looking like a full overhaul. the timing set was tight...

    Working over a motor

Great news for me. When we first built it we went through everything with a fine toothed comb, but I don't think we paid much attention to what parts we were putting into it. And didn't really have a goal for it other then it to start up. After it was running it maybe got 40k miles put onto it...

    Intake gaskets

The exhaust cross over helps with running the motor in cold weather. also some people do say that it helps with performance as the gas burns better with more heat. If you were happy with the performance and characteristic with the port open gaskets then I would replace them with the same type...

    Working over a motor

Hello everyone. Started working over my motor that I built years ago. High nickle 4 bolt main. Its become a lot of learning to see what mistakes I mad during that build up so I'm hoping for some insight on how I can build this thing back up for my truck. So far, It has an Edelbrock RPM...

    Issues with header install.

Thanks for all the help!! I ended up taking the header off today, got a good look at that mess. Bolt was broken off about a 5/8s of an inch inside the head, whoever tried drilling it did indeed get it right next to the threads and now where near center. So the threads were non existent. Ended up...

    Headers

A set of either these proform bolts of the lower stage 8 would fix this up and not allow them to loosen up. I've heard the stage 8 can be a pain, but I'm using the proform with good results...

    Issues with header install.

Yep, I'm right with you, really should not have been a big issue at all until it became a larger problem. Issue is that these are still the smog heads. So not too worth doing anything with them. and If or when I remove them I'll put something else on in their place. I do have my second and...

    Issues with header install.

Thanks for the info bucket! I have removed the A.C. compressor for the time being. With hopeful plans to someday change it over from r12 But it will be a long while to come. I do still have the original bracket would it be better to modify and use that over the other style if i want to...

    Issues with header install.

Hello everyone, I got my long tube headers finally installed. Wish I could say it went flawlessly but it did not. I did have a shop do the work for me. First issue: The shop found out that one of the POs broke a manifold bold off about a 1/8 of an inch deep inside the driver's side head. Then...

TH350 aftermarket oil pan will not stop leaking bad

Sounds like a good plan. Definately worth checking out. If your interested in a good pan for cooling and have the space but also dont mind paying a bit more I put a derale cooling pan on my 700r4 with one of those gaskets and its been fantastic.

TH350 aftermarket oil pan will not stop leaking bad

Before you throw anything away try a lubelocker gasket. Best sealing gasket ive ever used, goes on dry, and can be carefully reused, if it is a problem with the pan itself. Here's a summit racing link...

What have you done to your square lately??

Everything is a big more expensive then I want to pay but it was worth it as they are tall, baffled, cast aluminum covers and they look even better in person then in pictures. Heres the link https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bsp-blk95223

    Dead in the water.

That is good news. Here i was thinking my carb might be way out of adjustment. I did set the new ones to a .45 gap before install and the old ones are definitely smaller then that. It starts a lot easier (fewer cranks) then it did with the old ones. I haven't taken it out for a spirited drive...

    Dead in the water.

This is exactly what I'm thinking as well. But @Snoots Also brought up a very good point. Everything seems to be fine, no misfires that I've noticed but that doesent mean they arent there. I also realized that since I've owned the truck, 2.5 years or so, I haven't looked at the plugs. So i went...

    Door speaker cover / pod

I'm not sure how well these match up to the others but I ran across them on brothers. They also have a few other options like a piller, kick panel, and the cab corner speaker mounts. https://www.brotherstrucks.com/6x9-200W-SPEAKERS/productinfo/CASDD69/

Thanks for the great info @rpcraft I just got back from my 10day Checkup with the trans shop. They said everything is looking great, no leaks, no strange noises, vibrations or shifting, etc and so forth. They did however say that the engine oil leak is small, yet coming from the rear of the...

    - Retiring -

Congrats on the big change! I've been watching my dad go through this for the last few months. But they have a 50 acre field that he now actually has the time to farm. He still hasn't lol but hes been busy doing more fishing, hunting and family things then I've ever seen. He seems to be enjoying...

    Dead in the water.

So far things seem to be working out after the rebuild. I do have a little bit more of a vibration at idle then what I remember, not violent just very small. and it seems that I have a little less power to the wheels just off idle then I did before. but once you get on it she runs and shifts...
