LOL... Our local sears was only tools and housewares so we rarely had that catalog but the JC Penney book was pretty rad.

Need ideas for a modern steering wheel.

^^^^ And budget… I always liked Grant Signature wheels, affordable, upgraded adapters look nice & can get whatever wheel diameter you want. Any newer than ‘95 (IIRC) from a GM truck would probably not look good due to the air bag making them so big at the base & wouldn’t match the column.

    305 HO valve covers?

I remember seeing them on the LT1's when I was a youngster and always liked them, I think Dad got them to go with his TPI and tossed them on a shelf years ago but ended up going with aftermarket covers anyway. ETA: The first engine he built for this car used the perimeter bolts, he bought some...

    O'Reilly sux balls !!!

Oh-oh-oh Oreily’s is weird with some parts. If you’re open to brands they are usually competitive but sometimes if you’re particular they just order it from Summit, mark it up 30% and tack on the shipping.

Anyone have a LS swapped 3+3?

I mean really dude…. If MPFI and OD is all you’re after just put the L29 in it and call it a day. You could spend the savings on another square. If you want something rad do the big LT and 6 speed.

Good auto parts catalog is necessary for pooping… Pile of LMC and summit catalogs in my bathroom. I kinda miss the PAW catalog from my childhood…. I must have circled and underlined a bazillion hot rod dream parts

    Firewall Cleanup : AC Install

Yeah I studied those instructions and re-read them until they made no sense. Thanks for the complement Mike, we’re just a couple of kids with a welder and a lot of grinding disks. Dad and I were looking at you firewall pictures and thought it turned out great, we both liked the 2 tone. The...

What new tools have you got lately?

The part numbers on the IR stuff sold at Tractor Store actually start with "TS" all the big box stores do the same stuff. Walmart gets TV's made to their spec to reduce cost, Costco will work special packaging or other things to make more profit, etc. I'm guessing the yellow tag specials were...

What new tools have you got lately?

They had some “Yellow tagged” equipment in front of TSC the other day. An 80 gal IR disassembled and missing the pressure regulator and a note saying the motor was burnt was listed for $599, I thought for sure I could talk them down a bit because the motor retails for $700. NOPE…. Not...

Feels like front suspension 'bottoms out' over speed bumps.

@Redfish gave you some solid advice there One small thing... Correct terminology goes a long way when asking for help or shopping for parts Body lift = spacers between the body and the frame Suspension lift = increasing the distance between the frame and axles

Take a look at this rust spot, please.

Your call on re-skinning the roof but if it were mine I'd try to avoid it. Patching the few small rust spots and re-doing the top is a whole lot less work than the alternative. If you can metal work the top so it doesn't oil can quality body filler should last a long time.

Not a new tool for me but I gave this to a friend tonight, it’s a puller for a Polaris RZR 900 primary clutch

    Tailgate handle

That looks right except the chrome, thanks Mike. If you remember where it’s from let me know. Thanks, I’ve had fairly good luck with my LMC purchases so far, and I do need a shift boot no one else seems to have so I’ll give them a shot

    Tailgate handle

:oops::oops: Whoa, that’s really kind Ted! My original had been bent and is a little wallered out at the rivets. Also the nylon washers are toasted, it would still work for a “work truck” or even a daily driver. I’ve just invested so much time into this tailgate that I’m struggling...
