    Down Under Cars

For those that have never seen them in action, here’s one of many out there. They have to have bottomless wallets to do this. The spectators have to have a big set of kahunas to be there also. Of course the object is blowing and fire.

    Down Under Cars

I have been following the car culture in Australia for some time now. They have some pretty wild and creative stuff on the streets and the tracks. The one thing they seem to have a passion for....burnouts. Not the kind here where all we do is lock the front brakes (or chock the front tires) and...

    Time for a new radiator

As several has stated, I would go with rodding it out and hot tanked. These old things have kept the stock engine cool for decades. Mine is far from stock and I run the factory radiator, rodded out and hot tanked of course. My not stock intake creates a lot of heat and it cools just fine @ 190...

How about taking a few pictures and show us what you have to work with.

    Fuel Lines

A split second after asking my friend Google, here’s what you seek. https://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/8132/10002/-1 Just out of curiosity, why do you think you need to dual feed it. Lots of people who “thought” they would gain from doing this claim it didn’t do anything from a performance...

    Does this look original?

I’ve wondered the same thing. Looks much worse in pics because of the angle I took them. But still noticeable. I’ve just learned to live with it I guess.

    Under hood heat

I ran the ultimate vent for 2 years...no hood. Took that long to decide to cut the hood for the bug catcher. Blower and injection was new so hated to cover everything up. Drove her daily, even in the rain. Water was never an issue. If anything, it will let you know if you have bad plug wires:)...

    Holley Issues Continue......

Was this the same mechanic that said earlier everything was set fine? He couldn’t find a “metered” port as he calls it but now finds one? I’ve only owned one q-jet in my lifetime, but for the life of me can’t recall metering rods being wired or plugged into anything. You had to go inside to make...

For future reference, where is the advance plugged into now?

    Holley Issues Continue......

Rating what Eddie said about the weights moving freely gave me an afterthought. When I went to carbs in February 2018 I went ahead and got a new MSD Pro Billet distributor. No vacuum advance. Come spring time driving characteristics seemed to change somewhat. To make a long story short, popped...

    Holley Issues Continue......

Them port caps they make are cheap junk. Mainly the rubber ones. They appear fine just looking at them. But pull one off and usually there will be a crack. Found 2 on mine that failed within a short amount of time. The plastic type caps seem to hold up better.

    Holley Issues Continue......

But again, when you spray around the carb and the idle is affected, there is definitely a leak somewhere. Even reusing the base plate gaskets can cause a leak. Especially if they are turned differently than they were when taken off. The impressions on the bottom of the plate won’t match up with...

    Holley Issues Continue......

Thought I would pick this apart a bit. Even tho people are quick to blame the carb, no matter what the brand, more often than not, it is other issues. The main culprit is usually with the timing. Of course we know this is a used carb that apparently set for awhile with fuel left in it and most...

Hotter outdoors temps cause her to buck and cut out.

Was but not now. Twin carbs.

Not crazy about the doors or tail gate, but I won’t hold that against it.

Hotter outdoors temps cause her to buck and cut out.

I used the tubular pipe insulation from Lowe’s, or any hardware store sells it. Cheap and holds up well to the heat. Used from the tank to fuel pump and the outlet line to filter that runs real close to lower hose.

Hotter outdoors temps cause her to buck and cut out.

If it runs alright in cooler weather but not so well in the summer heat, Somethings going on with the fuel heating up like everyone’s saying. Could be because of no return line, but I don’t have one and no issues in our triple digit temps. Looking at the last pic, it appears by the rub mark on...

    fresh air intake

Even tho this is an entirely different setup than what you’re wanting to do, when it rains I suck moisture into the filters and have no issues. I would think the ducts wouldn’t pull near as much than I do, if any.
