Jumping in - 86 k10 long bed (first square body)

That seat is newer, 95-99 OBS split 60/40 bench. I'm sitting on an identical one in my crew cab. Nice looking truck, sux about the leaks.

    Soon to be new member…

Interesting, I didn't know they had those. Apparently they are really getting into the classic truck parts market. The OBS guys have been talking about this too.

I think I still have a couple of those pull strap covers. I'll look when I unload the trailer, coming back home from the show this weekend.

Square body truck diecast for sale

I believe I still have it, I'm at the motel so I'll check in the morning (we got unloaded at the venue but I still have to put all the stock out on the tables).

    Useful parts on a '96 K3500 for a Squarebody?

Yup the last year or so I've noticed fewer OBS trucks in the local yards in greater Houston area. I went today, to get parts for my CCLB, and they probably had a dozen or less of them in the whole 31 rows of trucks. People aren't scrapping them, they're using them for parts trucks.

I have two more of those Blazer's, if you wanted one , hit me up quick. I'm expecting to sell them this weekend at the show.

    Useful parts on a '96 K3500 for a Squarebody?

Yup the OBS big trucks are getting more popular as people realize how capable they are, and how easy to work on, vs. newer trucks. Count me in that club....

    Radio knob

I have several of the factory AM radios from our old square body trucks; Dad always pulled them so we could have a tape deck in our trucks, for road trips. I may also have some extra knobs, I'll look into it the next time I'm in the shop building.

New For Me 1985 Silverado 20 6.2 Diesel

Yep '88-'98 GM trucks (the series after the square bodies, internally called GMT400's) are commonly known as "OBS" for "old body style" or "original body style" since they're the first of the C/K1500-2500-3500 designations. They still have the 8' bed, but the sides are a little narrower and the...

New For Me 1985 Silverado 20 6.2 Diesel

Maybe the camper shell is for an OBS GM truck, I think they're a little bit more narrow at the top of the bed/box.

    Rally wheels

Depends on the shade of blue; darker ones like yours look good. A light blue though, unless there is a lot of other black trim, it won't look as good.

    15"x10" Truck Rallys

Prolly have to have them made. There are a few wheel companies that do custom orders....

    Rally wheels

Black looks good with most colors, but best with black, red or white. Same colors red works well with. Black wheels look weird on blue or green vehicle. That's why GM used silver, it works with most colors.

    Show your daily driver

Except for the floor stick, that looks very familiar. We put almost 300 miles on Rawhide this weekend, "going up the country" to Mom's high school reunion, and checking out all the old trucks in rural central Texas. Every little town has a few OBS's and many have a square or two as well. Missed...

K30 8 stud (lug) Wheel PCD & alternative wheels

16.5s aren't that easy to find in the States, unless you have a large fat wallet..... That is the diameter rims that all 8 lug trucks used to come with though. Back then it was much more common. The generation of GM trucks after the square bodies, the OBS or GMT 400s, has 16" wheels from the...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I put this in "check it out" but I'll post it here too. Found it in one of my late father's tool cabinets; don't think he ever used it.

    Well we bought another one...

Four doors are the bomb, how else ya gonna take yer buddies around cruising? Way back in the 70s we had an occasion to have four across in the seat of Dad's 75 GMC Sierra Classic C15, and it was a bit cozy. Was in the winter, and everyone had to take their coat off and stuff behind the seat...

Anybody collect hot rod magazines? look inside.

We had some of the 60s mags that were not "collector" grade, so my brother and Dad got the muscle car ads out of them. Lotsa cool stuff there.... I have to say, that's a badass way to cover the inside of a garage door!

Anybody collect hot rod magazines? look inside.

The early Hot Rod mags, and other titles, are still worth some $$, if you can find someone who wants them.

Anybody collect hot rod magazines? look inside.

Good luck getting rid of these! I have several hundred Hot Rod, Super Chevy, Chevy High Performance, and Rod & Custom mags, and when I take them to the swap meets it's hard to get a dollar each for them. The next swap meet in Texas I know of(besides the one with the Lone Star Roundup in Austin...
