Once my temp was down to a measly 100.8, I stumbled out to the garage for some more carb tuning. Even after adding the .043 (largest) accelerator nozzle, and the most aggressive accelerator pump 1468#, still has the same flat spot off idle. Just spitballing here based on what I was told when I was a youngun in high school. I don’t know if these diesels are prone to it, but I know that some of the GM diesels could pull oil past the valve seals. The fact that it’s surging upon deceleration brought that to the front of my mind. Feel...- ChuckN

Overall, the numbers on the Edelbrock (as I’ve learned and watched the AFR) aren’t awful, needs to be fatter on part throttle and leaner at WOT. I switched to a .104 jet and a .073/.037 metering rod, and went from a .098 secondary jet to a .095. Inching in the right direction, but I’ll need to... -

For sure, good info. The guy who told me about the mileage was probably wrong, or I just don’t remember correctly. You’re onto something there, but that’s just for the C10 flavor. RockAuto has lower control arms for both HD and non-HD in stock. I think here in WA state, the collectors plate is 20 or 25 years. There is supposed to be a limit on mileage as well, and my pickup isn’t supposed to haul anything in the bed. Ha, good luck enforcing any of that. I’ve broken every one of those rules.- ChuckN
