Anybody know is this post hot or neg

That is a light socket for the gauge lighting. That mount probably had a fiber optic cable to add lighting to the ash tray or wiper switch. Early Squares had a flat fiber optic cord/cable for the wiper switch. Later units had two, the second one put light at the ash tray. These were round cords.

73-87 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Problem

 Pennsylvania state safety inspection requirement, parking brake must hold on a 20% grade. That is an 11.3 degree angle. ^^^ This is a fail. ^^^ This is how the light duty Fords are when bleeding.^^

    82 style bunper fog lights

Your removal method was wrong. 1157 bulbs do not just pull out like newer lamps. You push the bulb in, turn CCW and then it comes out. That bulb socket is probably still okay. Just need to remove the rest of the old bulb.

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Sometimes you can replace freeze plugs with a tool like this, engine in vehicle. You need to make your attack from under the vehicle. So a lift is also necessary. This one is on Amazon. The used Snap-On tool on E-bay showed sealant left over on the adapters. Couldn't pull the picture without...

You used sealant, correct? Number 2 Permatex for coolant is my preference.

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Well, not exactly. My 1956 has a braided ground from the battery to the firewall from the factory. Then low on the firewall right to the starter. The braided ground was for heat dispersion. *? The '56 did not even have a radio. Most older vehicles had very few electrical accessories. The front...

I think a rod spun a bearing in my rebuilt 454

Won't get the pan off a rat in a 2WD truck, maybe 4W. As others stated, spun bearing usually tares up the crank journal. @txaggie Hope the shop makes good for you.

    K case 700R4

GM didn't waist money and time on parts that were not needed. You are right, the extra support was deemed necessary.

    Sear's Craftsman Handi Cut Cutter

I also have a ratcheting cutter. Yes, it will cut anything but steel. I use it for battery cables, 2-0 and 4-0 on the medium duty trucks.

Any tricks to getting your SB doors to close easier?

Here is the product for door seals, it't called Door Ease It is like a wax, you coat the rubber. Apply it like lip balm.

    1974 NOS doors.

When I went to buy factory doors for my '74, they were already out of production. I got the later doors, easy to tell, they have the key slots down low for mounting the later door panels. They were also discounted, $230 marked down to $200 each. This was about 30 years ago, if someone still has...

    6 x 9 speaker mounting in door

Another thing to consider, when you block the lower vent, you loose the flow through ventilation these trucks were designed to have. So you know, newer trucks still have flow through ventilation. The GMT 800's have the vents in the back of the cab.

Stock Cold air intake performance upgrades

This is the reason as Rick stated. How it works, it actually helps to prevent back fire also. The Trapped vacuum spark system on the engine made for a lot of advanced timing when cold. That can cause back fire spark. The element has charcoal which holds the extra fuel that might back fire. When...

    REDS NECK REPARES!~

Some these fixes may work in a, "get the vehicle home scenario." All of these temporary fixes will only aid in making your truck look like the picture in your avatar. My suggestion is get a rental or borrow a vehicle until you fix your truck. Since I explained how a GM dual piston master...

    Dodge Parts??? Behind seat tray

The cardboard failed right away when using the shelf to hold anything. I cut a finished 1x6 piece of oak the full length as the shelf. One 1/4" pan head bolt each side through the door jam to hold it in place. Painted black, it matched the truck. Piece of rubber mat on the shelf. This keeps...

which bench seat is best? 75? 80? 81?

About the folding seat backs, the early year squares had lap seat belts. Later years had lap and shoulder seat belts. With out shoulder belts, a folding seat would push a person forward in a frontal accident. Seat belts, your '75 has type "A" seat belt buckles. the retractor is non locking...
