C10 LS Swap Actual Cold Air Intake

From my experience, the K&N type air filters are some of the worst ever made. Although they do have some small performance gains, the tradeoff is not worth it at all. They allow very fine dust to get past the filter and into the engine. This if not good for the piston rings or valve seats. This...

How to fix my Front Axle not alligning

You could mark the leaf springs to see if the axle is wandering around. Might want to check the U-bolts to see if they are loose at all.

    Intake Manifold RTV Dry Times

Hands down the absolute best gasket sealer ever invented. Seals better, dries faster, and lasts forever. I have used it to successfully patch slashed sidewalls on off road tires and it held up 100%. If you this product on a clean dry surface, it will NEVER leak. For valve cover gaskets, you...

    87 V10 Wiring

Aside from not knowing where that wire goes, is there any reason to find out where it would go? If there are no symptoms of a problem, then I would have a beer and call it a day. Vehicles sometimes had extra wires on a harness because that model uses the same harness as a model that has more...

What’s the best way to fix/clean up this wiring problem?

Looks pretty clean to me. Are you sure that's not how it came from the factory? ha.. ha... ha... So what ya got here is a wiring job that was done by someone that doesn't know how to wire things properly, but is also really excited about wiring in new stuff. Lots of aftermarket stuff I would...

    Rebuilding rear axle DIY?

From my limited understanding, you have to know EXACTLY how to do it. Any mistakes at all are not tolerable. There are enough important steps to follow that I didn't even bother finishing the rest of the "how to" video. No way would I even try it, but that's just me.

Factory tach wire hole in firwall

Well, that's up to you. I generally look for an exhausting hole that was put there by the factory to feed wires or linkages through the firewall. The the tach wire and be inserted through the existing hole. Wiring harness, steering shaft, throttle, etc. A drill works, or even a punch and sledge...

C10 LS Swap Actual Cold Air Intake

Nice work man. Your hired! The only things I might look at is matching the ducting diameters, h20 drain tube in the bottom of the air box, putting an oiled foam cone over the filter (or just switching to a paper filter), and maybe insulating the air box and ducting so that the radiator heat...

    4:10 gears for 86 k10

You installing a locking diff? If it were me, I would just get a complete junk yard axle that has a factory LSD. Is your rig a 4x4?

HIT THE IGN. KEY AND NOTHING

I had a guy complaining that "the car works sometimes but not other times.... sometimes the car wont turn on". But I tried starting it like 50 times over the course of a few weeks. It ALWAYS started for me, and the other guy continued to have problems with it. He would get stuck in parking lots...

HIT THE IGN. KEY AND NOTHING

If you just need a quick workaround, you can buy one of these or make one. Its just a way to manually activate the starter. On the solenoid - clip one onto the S and one on the B. Press the button and the starter kicks on.

HIT THE IGN. KEY AND NOTHING

Assuming its an automatic, try holding the key in the start position when moving the gear selector from P or L and back. The neutral safety switch might be misaligned, and this would identify that issue. The truck should start in P or N, but if its misaligned, it might start in R or D, etc.

    Will a 8.5 Camaro 10 bolt axle fit in a 1981 squarebody?

If you are replacing the entire axle, I don't see how splines would matter. As long as the drive shaft will bolt up to the U-joint, then what difference would the splines make? Note: I am no axle expert by any means.

    backfire under wide open throttle

One thing you could try, would be to close the choke part way and see if the problem goes away. If that solves the issue, then your running lean without the choke. If it were me, I would try replacing the carb with a cheap one from Marketplace or Craigs.

    Will a 8.5 Camaro 10 bolt axle fit in a 1981 squarebody?

Is your truck a 4x4? If so, that axle wont work unless you swap the front axle as well. The gearing will be different, so keep that in mind. I believe that the 4.11 gearing would give a lower top speed. If the length of the axle is wrong, you can use wheel spacers or different wheel offsets to...

    Toe adjustment 1987 V10

Ya, if you can verify that two tape measures read 100% the same, you could use two different tapes. But any time the tape retracts and "slaps" back, you would need to re-verify the accuracy between the two. I have always used one and it worked well for me.

    Toe adjustment 1987 V10

I do not recommend using 2 different tape measures. Use 1 tape measure to check both sides. Less variables this way. More accuracy. The rivets can loosen, the clasp at the end can have different bend angles, etc. The printed marks are always perfect, but the ends are always different. If...

    Computerized carb

Whats a computerized carb? Do you mean throttle body fuel injection? Technically yes, you can put a carb on any engine. You could put a carburetor on a diesel engine. It just depends on how many mods you want to do.
