Finally, something without a computer under the hood.

I don't know if you are familiar, but there is a channel on YouTube "Uncle Tony's Garage" that talks about this all the time. There is a growing desire for the simple vehicles of the 60's, 70's and 80's that are modern enough to be usable and old enough to still be fixable by the home or hobby...

    The last pre-emmisions diesel

If you aren't getting any signs of injector failure, fuel in the oil, white smoke on startup, hard starts, etc., I'd just leave them alone and add a good 2 micron filter as mentioned earlier in the thread.

Anybody see one of these before? Little Max

Not the same model, but there used to be something similar in an old fire truck that our department had back when I joined in 1991. It was an early 60's tanker/pumper combo and had a similar style module in the radio compartment by the pump panel.

It's the little things in life that make me happy. But, it did my heart good to see that caliper hanging properly by a wire instead of off the line....LOL

    The last pre-emmisions diesel

I don't honestly remember off the top of my head. I think that is the right one but I would definitely call and make sure.

That's a great question. I did a search using my vin# and it came up with this Yukon set. https://www.yukongear.com/shop/ya-w25000 Are you showing the same? I would definitely give them a call direct to confirm.

How many miles on this truck? Those look to be the original factory joints I believe. I've done so many of those joints that I've lost count. They tend to eat them pretty regularly, especially if you use four wheel drive on a regular basis. I'd personally smooth out those burrs, reassemble...

With that trailer, that 12.5 mpg is definitely a reasonable guess, especially with the early common rail 5.9. My '07 is an early AD (lower gear ratio) G65 manual with 3.73's. It is definitely gear limited for great MPG at highway speeds.

    The last pre-emmisions diesel

I don't know the size of your trailer, but I get a consistent 11-11.5 mpg towing my 5500 lb, nearly 12' high Jayco with my '07 with 65 mph highway speeds. I have to agree with you on the hotels. I have a short 4 night trip coming up at the end of the month that I will be at a hotel. Not...

Yes, the hangers appear to be stainless like the system. I've never had any issues with them rusting, only the welds breaking off from abuse on the plow truck. There have been a couple of times that we've slid it off the road and or high centered it and most likely they just broke loose...

You are going to love the MBRP exhaust. I have one on both my current 2007 and the 2004.5 that we have sitting in the weeds. Both were installed when the trucks were new and other than replacing a few hangers over the years, have been absolutely flawless. Absolutely no drone, even when towing.

Welcome from a little bit north.

Need honest quote for this truck, not a I know what I have?

Shipping would be an absolute killer, but that is a $5K+ truck all day long here in Pennsylvania. Sub $3000 squares here are in various stages of disassembly or you can see directly through to the ground due to the rust issues.

UPDATE! Need expert opinions on 86 or 87

I'd opt for the one in the best overall condition.

    Frame rot

The frame on my 2007 Ram Cummins was Ziebart coated when new and then every year afterword. It rotted through under the cab and I now have it plated. I would never use Ziebart again. I've started using Fluid Film the last couple of years, even on my new vehicles. I like what I see with it so...

'93 W/T 1500 (Surprise, surprise, Bucket acquired another truck)

I am pretty sure that I have a number of quarts (~4-6) of NOS MOPAR branded NV-3500 transmission fluid over at the shop on the shelf. It's been there unopened for 15 years or more. Let me double check later this evening how many I actually have. But, you are welcome to them if you could use them.

I may have missed it in your thread, but is that an NV-3500 transmission?

    Another Motor swap...V8 or V6

We have one of those also, 2021 Ranger crew 4x4 XLT. I wish I could tell you how it runs and drives but my daughter refuses to even let me sit in the driver's seat.....lol These modern powertrains are amazing though. When we were young, 270hp and 300+ lb/ft would not equate anywhere near 20 mpg.

Well, you are talking with the wrong person if you are wanting someone to talk you out of it....lol My 3.5L F150 10-speed combo has just been amazing.
