After 25 years of marriage, I'm pretty used to that problem.......lol

    Favorite Project Truck Sales Pitches

I've seen the line "mechanic owned and maintained" a couple of times. If that's the case, then I don't want to ever go to that garage for service.

    1991 Suburban AC

I would have thought that PAG would be the proper oil for 134a. I reserve the right to be wrong however.

    Crewcab with an I6. Hmmmm

I have seen cab & chassis trucks with a 292 before. They were all regular cabs however.

    Crewcab with an I6. Hmmmm

Now that is just flat out cool. I don't know that I ever saw one with a I6. That is just screaming for a Cummins swap.

    C20 for towing

Very familiar with them. Actually bought a 2005 extended cab brand new. Solid truck other than the ongoing issues with the intermediate steering shaft. There's nothing inherently bad or good with the 4l60E. It's simply an electronically controlled automatic transmission that needs to run...

    C20 for towing

If towing is your primary goal with the truck you are going to purchase, then as much as it pains me to say it, I'd dump the idea of a square and pick yourself a modern 1/2 ton of your favorite flavor. It will be a much better platform for you to start out with, especially if your plan is to...

    Budget Beater Build: 2004 Dakota

I have a couple of minor things to work on when I get the chance. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, there is an issue with the oil pressure gauge that I need to diagnose. I also noticed a little noise in one of the rear door speakers. It has that Infinity sound system that Dodge offered...

    Budget Beater Build: 2004 Dakota

Thanks. It is sitting in the driveway as our spare for now. Definitely worth the little bit of money I have in it.

    Muffler swap opinions

I actually like the sound of the Flowmasters. I'd run what you have now unless they need replaced due to corrosion, etc.

    Budget Beater Build: 2004 Dakota

Looks like it's going to be more of a spare vehicle for us. My daughter is really liking the Ram 1500 she is running currently and I don't think that she will want to switch.

How many horns on a 79 C10 Custom Deluxe

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Custom Deluxe came standard with a single horn in '79. I will have to look to confirm, but I'm almost positive that my Scottsdale trim '79 has "Dual Note Horn" listed somewhere on the sticker or data tag inside the glovebox.

There is one on ebay right now with broken windows with a buy it now price of $550. Nowhere near the condition of the one you pictured.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

Believe it or not, ours was a BCM issue also. A little different than yours, but ours had to do with the windshield wipers, dash gauges, and left turn signal. Once we replaced the BCM, it was fine until we sold it.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

My wife had a 1996 GC 318 for a number of years. I really liked it. But, like everything around here, it rusted away to the point of no return. The only problem I ever had with the GC was some electrical gremlins. Otherwise, it was very good.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

I got to the point that I could have the cab off in less than 2 hours. Some of the guys that really did a lot of them had it down to where they could be in the 1-1.5 hr range. It just made such a difference in trying to work on anything that it was worth the hassle. The most time consuming...

Actually, I really loved the 6.0 Ford. It kept my bay full at the diesel shop I used to work at for many years. I often joke that the 6.0 paid for my house....LOL

    Should I?

The only thing I have left that us loud is my Cummins. It does have a muffler on it but it is a 4" straight through design. It's not too obnoxious unless you really stand on it. Fortunately or unfortunately, that exhaust is 304 stainless and will outlast the truck. The truck will finish...

Holy cow. Boy do those lights bring back memories. My father had a 5 cell aluminum one just like those when I was a kid.

1988 C30 Cab and Chassis Frame Question

I ran across an ad on Facebook Marketplace today for a 1988 C30 single wheel utility body. In looking at their pictures, I noticed the reinforcement plates under the frame. I know that there were a bunch of different variations of these frames over the years. Just for my clarification, these...

    S-10 project

I got a little chuckle out of the 4 spare 2.8L parts engines. I had my old '85 S10 Blazer from 1991 through 1999. I had the same pile of engines in the garage for it and actually got pretty good at swapping one out in a short weekend.

    A big question

I've said it once and I'll say it again, you guys out west have absolutely no idea how much money you could make shipping rust free trucks and parts out here to us poor souls in the rust belt at a reasonable cost. There are a couple of companies out here that do it already. But, they end up...
