    Wobbly power steering pump pulley

Worth trying. That old pump might last for years. The steering pump on the 77 looks original. Replaced the original leaky lines a year ago and it’s smooth and leak free.

    Front spring question

Ya tough call. If the truck is otherwise straight then you could put a little coil spacer in the saggy side and see how it looks. 1/2” ain’t much if it drives good. Should still be fine with a smidge of lift? I like cheap simple solutions.

    Adhesive Rear Cab Molding?

It’s not scary. And you got a wide margin for messing up and it’s still hidden.

Coolant Hose Popped Off the Thermostat

That Altitude shouldn’t affect the coolant enough to matter. But you’re correct it affects boiling point, say straight water at like 10kft alt boils at under 200deg.

Did you get hit in the head recently? Lol

Doesn’t matter though. Think about your goals with the truck. At this point, that’s not really part of the equation. It will have a NP208 and either a turbo 400 or 700r4.

A stock 80s 350 is about as anemic as it gets, except for the 70s motors that had even a few less horsepower. Depends on your definition of ok. I’ve pulled big stuff with stock squarebodys with 350s back in the day. You’re ragging it mercilessly to think about towing 10klbs on anything but dead...

Great idea, except the “factory drop in”option is a NA 6.2 with anemic power. And turboing the 6.2 or dropping in a 6.5 mechanical TD is a project and a rabbit hole you don’t sound experienced enough to go down and not be frustrated. And if you were successful it would still be a muffin...

    Help please

^What @Ricko1966 said. Was it running before and why you change all that? Not saying it’s wrong but will help figure out why it’s not running. Also for future reference, when doing shadetree work, especially if replacing parts to fix an obvious issue, it’s best to do one thing at a time and...

    V2500 frame compatibility and advice.

Agreed, but unless the OP is making a wheeler or planning on hauling really heavy cargo loads frequently, a solid 1/2 ton frame will serve the same purpose. Give. The choice apples to apples yes, upgrade. Long distance purchase or have to do a bunch more work on the donor I wouldn’t be afraid...

    Dual Battery

Bam! That’s a good wiring diagram If you’re just wanting to roll, put your good battery over there and make sure everything is wired to it and works. Make sure you got a charging wire to it and get er dun. If the accessories are not hooked up right you’ll figure that out I guess. But you’ll...

    Free, you pick up.

If you put “free”, no one will take them. Put a price on it and someone will steal it quickly! Funny story, saw a FREE truck topper down the road a yr or 2 ago. Looked decent, passed it a couple times with no time to stop. It was still there 2 days later. Grabbed the kid and unloaded a couple...

    Dual Battery

There are many ways to wire in a second battery from straight up parallel connection to any number of solenoids, relays/isolators. IMO, the bigger question is, do you really have a need for a 2nd battery? And if you do and actually use it for auxiliary loads, while the vehicle is shut off...

    Wobbly power steering pump pulley

You gotta find the squeak first. In my experience a little pulley wobble is not synonymous with squeaky belt. Sounds like an old truck with old everything (except the belt that uninstalled itself recently). Fixing the wobble on a perfectly operating, not leaking pump would be pretty low on my...

    intro and advice

Agree, not sure where some of the depression era “save everything” mentality comes from, especially in this situation. Reading the OPs post and pics I see: 1. Truck totally trashed with a bad engine, beached where it sits since last fall. 2. Apartment complex. Dude don’t have a shop and a...

New member with a new C10 build

Welcome to the world of 2 tone schitt colored trucks! Looks like a beaut! Looking at the 70s pamphlets those hubcaps were offered on squares. 79,77 pamphlets didn’t show them. 75 does, and apparently 76 according to @legopnuematic. Look up Dezos garage, has all the old car brochures by year and...

    Engine High Pitch Whining

If it goes away quick, more difficult to diagnose, but to check belts/pullies, you can spray a little water on them while running. May be hard to track the exact pulley but can narrow down to which belt if it’s not a serpentine setup.

Is the polished/chrome tailgate cap stock, on my 87.

Good call. But if they get fastened down solidly they don’t move around as much. Good way to also keep from rubbing through the paint is put down sacrificial layers. Honestly a couple layers of duct tape would work for quite a while. I’ve also used double sided tape, couple layers of clear vinyl...

No LEDs until you figure out the problem, which sounds like ground(s). Do a little readin on here. This subject is discussed regularly. You’ll learn where all the grounds are to check/clean up. That’s where I’d start.

Who sells the best replacement gas tank

Didn’t know someone made plastic tanks for squarebodys. Thats cool. Expensive but nice if you’re trying to get long life out of a new tank in a year round rust belt rig. But for the vast majority, $90-150 depending on size and whether you get it with a new sender seems more reasonable. OP, a...

Water leak on floor, not sure how to fix

90% chance cleaning out the built up organic materials down in the cowl drain, which I think? is your last pic, will cure the issue. Cowl cavity should drain out freely on each side. If you fill the cowl with water and it’s leaking in where you show, that’s the most likely cause.

Do I restore my AC or?

I don’t understand…scary because it came from Idaho? Whatever… it charged up the old Durango with ice cold AC for a summer before selling it. After replacing a damaged condenser. Didn’t seem too scary.
