    Finally got a running 65 C10

IDK either, all any of us can do is research to the best of our ability and make our own decisions. Honestly I was trying to buy VR1 but the oil help line guy told me what he told me. He coukd have been laughing as he hung up the phone.

Rear oil pan seals too long?

It is not a level playing field.Rock auto does not have buildings to maintain, thousands of employees to employ, or even people to answer the phone, etc. They are the Ebay of the Autoparts world, they sell products offered for sale by others. Which is why some people have good luck, others have bad...

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Shell live documents 8/15/2023 shell says good for off road gas engines. They did change some of the ratings due to the high dzzp and catalytic converters, but IDK maybe something has changed in a year and a half.

    Need a breather for my 1987 7.4L "N", ideas?

3/8th type A should be 1/2 od less than 5.00 for a 10 foot stick. I would use 1/2 I.D. and use a coupler,at each end. The couplers would be 1/2 O.D.. my concern is causing too much restriction not being able to vent enough to make pcv work as it should.

    Dually Fender Attachment

I'd investigate using 5/16 threaded inserts they come in brass, stainless or carbon steel,or time serts. Epoxy the outside before install, then use 5/16th,studs and washers.

    fuel line clamps

Nice thing about spring clamps is they are constant tension, like serpentine belt tensioners. Years ago it was common to have to tweak a clamp, tension a belt etc. Because of 6 months of use and a bunch of heat cycles

    Finally got a running 65 C10

That was how how I got turned on to the Rotella T4 15/40. I called the Valvoline hot line to ask about the VR1 for my Chevelle. Turns out the call center isn't just Valvoline it is an umbrella helpline for many oil brands. Anyway their help guy told me run Rotella T4 15 40 it had all the...

    Finally got a running 65 C10

I like Rotella T4 15/40 ,but I actually would follow whatever your cam manufacturer says. That way in case there are any problems, you can tell them I followed your directions to the letter. Did I already advise you earlier to run single springs for break in and to make sure all pushrods are...

    Need a breather for my 1987 7.4L "N", ideas?

Yea I thought about b,but A has higher heat resistance, better flex, and less likely to kink. I though the poly fittings, crimp clamps and paint could be made to look almost factory.

    Need a breather for my 1987 7.4L "N", ideas?

I'd also be tempted to use type A pex, poly fittings and crimp clamps your pic looked like 2 90 s would do it. Position the clamps where they look best and some black spray paint wouldn't look too ghetto.

    Need a breather for my 1987 7.4L "N", ideas?

I'd bend something out of steel tubing, just like a brake line a fuel line or transmission line. If I didn't think I could do it in steel I'd do it in soft copper,or pex I'd paint it black when done. Push comes to shove you could use a piece of pcv hose the correct length put a spring inside it...

    Manifold and ported vacuum

Damn near every car made in real life, prior to emissions concerns ran on manifold vacuum. Pics from Edelbrock installation guide.

    Manifold and ported vacuum

Okay disconnect the vacuum advance rev the engine until the timing quits moving, rotate and lock the distributor down at 36 degrees.Reconnect vacuum advance. Call it a day. If it doesn't ping ever, this is as good as your going to get without more work. You will need to make a timing tape,or buy a...

    Manifold and ported vacuum

Okay as long as no one has changed anything with the factory heads that thing is going to want approximately 36 degrees total advance and manifold vacuum. To set total you either need a timing tape,or a dial back timing light. Put your advance on manifold vacuum and start your car.check the...

    Manifold and ported vacuum

What year stock 350 engine? What heads?
  22. R

    Manifold and ported vacuum

You should use manifold vacuum to vacuum advance. Ported vacuum is generally an emissions deal and even when new from the factory there was usually a thermo vacuum switch which over rides the ported vacuum switching to manifold vacuum if the engine gets beyond a certain temperature. Manifold...

    Introduction and BBC to SBC???

If all that's wrong with the 454. Dingle hone it,rings, rod bearings and get your 1 rod resized or replaced,if replaced, match weight to your old rod within 3 grams. I use 1/2 gram, but I think industry standard is 3-5. I'm saying this because in your last post you said you're driving it,abd...
