K5 rear seat just wont latch!

So is your rig a '77? If in fact it is, someone installed the '78 and later rear seat. You may want to pull up the carpet and check on the quality of work. Also, it shouldn't just be some slits in the carpet. There should be a larger opening in the carpet, along with a chrome trim bezel. The...

    1974 NOS doors.

The trick is to find the NOS stuff from the 70's and 80's, not the last run stuff that was boxed up in the 90's.

Lowest drop coil springs for c20/c30?

Ford's twin I beam setup eats tires. When the ride hight is changed, they eat tires even more. Many Ford lovers are in denial and say it's a good suspension design, but even more people will agree that it's not "just fine".

K5 rear seat just wont latch!

Do you mean the passenger seat? In '77, the rear seat was stationary.

I'm really not sure, but I know they aren't that finicky. Especially the points gap. I kept a little piece of sandpaper in the compartment under the seat, because every now and then, the thing would just up and quit running. I'd sand the points, start it back up and get back to cutting grass...

    1974 NOS doors.

While that may be true these days, I can assure you that 20+ years ago, that aftermarket stuff was absolute steaming dog sh¡t compared to the GM stuff.

I think a rod spun a bearing in my rebuilt 454

I would assume that the mains were also checked and the inner bolts were reinstalled to hold the caps in place. I assume.

73-87 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Problem

It's been many years since I messed with any. But I don't recall being instructed by the wise old timers that I worked with to remove the lever and do that procedure. The '82-'88 F-body had a very similar caliper, just a little smaller. They don't work very well there either.

73-87 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Problem

I haven't seen the procedure laid out like that before either. I'd assume that they want you to do it that way, just because it seems more professional than manually ratcheting the lever a whole bunch of times. But that's just my assumption.

That's one of the things I love about my old Cub Cadet. The whole front grille and headlight frame is a single piece of cast steel, you can push whatever the hell you want with it, lol.

Lawn/ Garden tractors/ Riding Mowers, Cool Mods and tinkering

To be clear, I don't dislike zero turn mowers. But when someone has several acres to mow and very few obstacles for the amount of grass being cut, it makes little to no difference between a zero turn and a garden tractor. No matter what, you can only go as fast as the horsepower will allow. I...

Lawn/ Garden tractors/ Riding Mowers, Cool Mods and tinkering

Lol, I'm not arguing that they don't make a lot of sense for many many people. Just that they aren't needed or "better" if maneuverability is of little concern.

Lawn/ Garden tractors/ Riding Mowers, Cool Mods and tinkering

I don't understand why everyone loves a zero turn so much. I get that they are very useful for many many people because you can maneuver so much easier and save a lot of time. But beyond that, what's the big deal? You can't push car with them. You can't move a trailer with them. You're very...

73-87 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Problem

I'm just going to emphasize, the Eldorado calipers often cause problems. They cause problems on Eldorados and they often cause problems in rear disc brake conversions. They are a very crappy caliper.

73-87 Rear Disc Brake Conversion Problem

The Eldorado calipers have a bad habit of not staying adjusted. So when you hit the pedal, it's soft until the pad reaches the rotor. Do you have the parking brake hooked up and functioning?

A much cheaper solution would be hubcaps.

I think a rod spun a bearing in my rebuilt 454

That's basically going a whole other direction. There's a lot of other parts you would need (like the entire accessory drive) and you wouldn't be able to use any of your existing stuff like heads and cam. I wouldn't go that route, and this is coming from someone that has an 8.1 swap in the works.

Also, wouldn't Boggers be an acceptable choice as well? I guess it may not matter because I don't remember if they offer those in a 33" for a 16" either.

    K20 8 lug to K10 6 lug

Just run 15" wheels on the 8-lug axle. Depending on what backspacing you run, you may need to grind a little on the calipers, but that's no big deal compared to swapping hubs and brakes.

No. Even though it ain't an LS, big blocks still ain't cheap and still fairly difficult to get ahold of.

    Leaky K5 tailgate

The window sweep is only there to keep the large amounts of rain a debris out. The inside panel needs to be installed to keep rain water out of the interior. That's why the panel has a seal attached to it.
