    Another option would also be the lowly Saginaw 4-speed. Still no overdrive, but better gearing and 1st gear is synchronized. And affordable.

    Yes, the 8.1's are somewhat detuned in factory form. Tuning them is supposed to be good for 400-420 HP and 500 or so TQ, from what I have read.

    When I last looked into it, it was like 6 months from going into effect and the local hardware store had all the farm plates on clearance, lol. They were marked down to like $1.99 or something. I thought they used to be around 10 bucks.

    I haven't used my cherry picker in probably 3 years. I prefer my old loader tractor. It ain't going anywhere though, I know I'll need it many times in the future.

    That's a cool color and must be a bit uncommon. I don't remember seeing any off hand, and a Google search turned up some, but not a lot. It's like a copper/orange metallic color.

    Like I said before, ANY V8 can sound good. I'm betting that video of yours doesn't do it enough justice either. When I've tried to record my exhausts with my phone, there's a lot lost.

    It's always something completely stupid that sets them off. And usually when it goes into limp mode, it sets a few other codes because evidently the pcm is too stupid to figure out why other sensor readings are out of range (due to high throttle % and high speed, I guess) because it's in limp...

    Hedman has two basic designs of headers, besides "Elite" and regular. They have one design like yours and they also have a version that hangs low like that Summit header you have pictured. I have run both styles of Hedman, they both have their merits, but I do prefer the version you have.
