    I'd replace what you have. Way simpler to find parts down the road. BTW - that's only the second of that style compressor I have seen - both here on this site. I am used to A6s and R4s . I forget the terminology for that one. RA6, maybe ?:think: *Edit* HD6, I believe. If wrong someone...

    I believe the power door lock has constant power- have you checked for power at the switch? Checked for broken wires in the rubber boot that goes between the door and the body? I had that problem once and it was the light blue wire ... HTH!

    Based on your description of the usage and the engine and drive train it sounds like it is the correct mileage. Brake pad wear, as stated, is a variable. Either way, enjoy ! :)

    The engine works harder at highway speeds so I could see it running hotter on the highway with a plugged radiator. When you have the cap off and look in does it look grungy ? Looks like Rusty is thinking it is a fan clutch issue, however.

    As a guess, you may have the shift bowl in a bind. Try hanging the column back in place and moving the shifter towards the park position.

    That is a side marker light. As wired by GM it comes on with the parking lights and would not blink.

    I am no electrical guru, but , the brake light bulbs and turn signal bulbs for the rear are one and the same. The brake light switch is the one that is above the brake pedal and activated by it. Are you sure the bulbs are the correct ones ? 1157 is the part number.

    I am not an electrical guru but can promise you from experience on a 79 Trans AM that, yes, it can. It would drain the battery in 12 hours and test AOK on the parts house machine.

    I noticed my fan clutch has been hanging on and a slow warm up. I did some reading last night and found I needed a severe duty as that was the stock clutch versus the heavy duty I had. Hayden 215045 is the stock clutch for an 80 with AC. Also found that Murray 2797 is the cross and OReallys...

    I'd say the switch is the issue, but, if you are there the stalk makes sense, too. Mine is not set up like that but I recently bought a Standard stalk off Parts Geek, I believe, for my 99 Camaro . This has the cruise switch and was roughly 60 bux IIRC.

    As best as I know they were both - an option, and part of an equipment package. The 77 Silverado Suburban I had as well as Goldie had tow hooks. I do not see a separate tow hook code on my SPID label on Goldie so I assume it is part of the Sierra Classic trim.

    Take the belt off the compressor - it is separate from the others - and lets find out together ! :cool: If the noise goes away , there ya go. Of course, no AC w/o a belt, but ... Well, I say that. Your 87 may have a serpentine belt. Then I would unplug the power plug at the compressor.

    No timing belt on these engines- perhaps you meant timing chain but you would be hard pressed to hear a noise unless it was so loose it was slapping the timing cover.
