HIT THE IGN. KEY AND NOTHING

some time in 84 they switched. if it is a manual - check the clutch start interlock.

HIT THE IGN. KEY AND NOTHING

1985- automatics do not have a neutral safety switch. Went to mechanical interlock on steering column/steering wheel

    Instrument panel light question

Yes- it is suppose to- It lights up when it is grounded. When you start the truck it grounds it briefly. It's a tan/black wire that turns to tan/white or tan in engine compartment going to proportioning valve.

    Instrument panel light question

Possibly- It is a dual filament bulb and the side marker (right turn signal) actually grounds by going through the bulb. I'll try to explain what is possibly happening. As you know, electricity come from the positive side of battery and has to return to the neg side.(conventional) The return...

    Instrument panel light question

It is getting back feed from the parking lights (not uncommon)- usually a ground issue. I always start by checking grounds. Check your grounds inside the cab. Also check grounds at front right turn signal & head lamps. Are you using LEDs or incandescent bulbs?

    Blower Motor not working

This could cause heat build up- on the loose side squeeze the connector to make it tighter. The thick orange wire is coming from the Ignition Switch. When you jump something directly to the battery you are removing the safety feature of the fuse- If you aren't careful you will cause damage.

    Blower Motor not working

I believe you should have power on the yellow wire at the resistor (all the time) once the key is turned to run position. That is why the blower runs all the time on the older squares bodies. I would check for power on the yellow & brown wires on the selection switch next. Also the fuse you...

1985 C20: Power to cab, will not start when key is in "on" position

85- the neutral safety switch changed into a mechanical interlock (prevents key from turning into start position)- at least on the tilt column it changed

    Green Wires?

Test port for the torque converter lockup in the 700R4 transmission. See attachment- Mine is in the same spot as yours. -I'm not sure why diagram has it inside cab. Here is a link to wiring diagrams you might find useful -LINK-

Side marker led lights dim when marker lights on

This ^^^^ LEDs -light emitting diode- diodes only let current run one direction (unless they have been modified some how)

    LED conversion

You will need to eventually swap the hazard flasher out. But it seems to me the LED flasher you have isn't working properly. You probably need to either add some resistors like @TotalyHucked mentioned or find a electronic flasher that works properly. This flasher has to be grounded but it...

    LED conversion

I've been told that a lot of the electronic flashers don't work correctly for all applications.-I'm not sure why it is hit or miss. There is also the polarity issue with the electronic flashers. This one is known to work well with squarebodies- LINK-United Pacific 90652 LED Flasher w/Polarity...

    LED conversion

Just to clarify- do the rear lights work correctly all the time or or only with the incandescent in the front turn signals? also- just curious- did you change both the turn signal flasher and hazard flasher?- If not, is there any difference when you use the hazard lights?-or do they act the same.

    Under Dash Wiring Mystery

Wrong fuse- you need to check the 20 AMP fuse for TL/CTSY see attchment

    Under Dash Wiring Mystery

First- replace the fuse, just to make sure the fuse isn't wonky. Also make sure the fuse is make good contact where it pushes in. (sometimes the the metal connectors in the fuse box get stretched apart.) If all that looks good, then Yes- you need to investigate the orange wire. It should have...

    Under Dash Wiring Mystery

That probably isn't a problem- The light switch is not getting power to it or the running lights. Did you check for power at the TL/CTSY fuse? -(This is the fuse for running lights & the INSTR LPS fuse) If you do have power there, next check for power at the orange wires at the light...

    Under Dash Wiring Mystery

These all go through 20 AMP TL/CTSY fuse. Make sure you have power there and the fuse is good. From the fuse box, orange-40 wire runs to headlight switch for running lights(brn-9wire) & dashlights (grn-44 wire). From there the orange-40 runs to the courtesy light. Grn-44 wire feeds...

    Headlights

Also- They are all fed by the same red wire usually coming from starter. It splits (at bulkhead-inside)- one red goes to fuse box for tail lights (after fuse box- it's the orange wire that runs to pull light switch) and the other red goes to pull light switch for headlights.

First image- looks like knock/ detonation sensor last image-probably plugs in transmission for TTC maybe the weird solenoid is the low vac switch for transmission TTC

    Oil Pressure Gauge Pegged

Sorry to hear about your circuit board. Did you possibly ground the sender wire to the wrong terminal of the battery or left the power on for more than a few seconds when it was grounded? You said you have already replaced the circuit board and gauge. It sure is acting like a bad gauge to me...

    Oil Pressure Gauge Pegged

If you used teflon tape on the sender- it might not be grounding. What happens if you ground the tan wire to a known good ground &/or where did you try to ground it before? Check this video out. It explains how it works and how to figure out what is wrong. Oil Pressure diag-LINK
