Big blocks can get expensive. My tall deck 8.0l build cost me a small fortune. 8.0l was the gen6 with gen7 parts sprinkled on it. Rods and pistons are the weak points on 8.1l. Raylar heads supposed to perform very well from what I have seen.
Interested notes on parts compatibility. With a specific gm crank, rods and pistons swap between gen 6 and 8.1l. Cams are also direct swap but different firing order
I found some info that manual shift transfer case actually tied direct to ecm. Would make it simpler. On AC side, trying to figure out actual string that would need to be sent on a can bus to enable ac
Would like to find an ecm and possibly tcm from 07-09 truck with v8 engine, 4l60e and manual shift transfer case. Or just part numbers or vin number from such a truck. If anybody knows of one.
Very long and unlikely reach, but looking for detailed information on communication protocols used in the 2007-2009 gm trucks. Specifically protocols on ac and transfer case messages sent on a can bus.
Important when put together to adjust for right amount of play. Can either use specific tools, or works well by feel. Feel how it goes through the center.
