    another elco

New intake showed up. But down on funds and time. Need to find some pistons in specific weight range and a bunch of misc pieces. For now quadrajet is doing just fine, so this is more of a getting ready if and when current set up acts up

    Cylinder head choices

I have ran 305 HO heads on a 350 a while back in a 85 GMC. Had a mild summit brand cam kit. It ran out of air by 5k rpm, but otherwise ran pretty well. If heads need work, might be better money spent finding better heads to start with. But just throwing it together for a decent runner they seem...

    Train wreck

Small steps. Changed the switch on the locks from the parts car. Also test fitted intake tube from earlier inline 6 car. I prefer the cleaner look and wll switch out the other one out as well. Mirrors and grille are on. Drilled and tapped the driver side mirror so could adjust it. Painter was...

I usually ended up about 600 for motor and 300 for transmission to keep them moving

    Pulling Sucks--2001 Suburban 3/4 ton--6.0

I would say do the back pressure test on exhaust. 8.1l will pull better, but 6.0 should do ok letting it ride higher rpm in 3rd gear. It also might be a gearing issue where it falls out of the right spot. 4.10 gears in the rear help.

Affordable AC Fix Squarebody Suburban W/ Rear AC

I used a vacuum controlled valve that bypasses the coolant instead of shutting it off. Late gmt400 trucks used them. I just hooked the vacuum line to it except in january when it would get disconnected for a month.

Affordable AC Fix Squarebody Suburban W/ Rear AC

I had the above steps along with sanden and parallel flow condenser. I believe in the end was using red orifice tube. It could keep the inside cool in the middle of the texas heat sitting idle for hours.

The whole assembly unbolts and drops down. But not before interior is stripped for headliner removal.

    Train wreck

Starts right up on a bottle. Drove in to the garage. Mostly keeping interior and some misc pieces. Engine needs to go unles I convince my self to keep it for swapping in to the stealth.

    Quiet muffler recommendations

I just bought two Walker 21583 mufflers to run as duals along with spiral flow mufflers to use as resonators. Inlet on the 21583 turned out to be slightly smaller than 3", which I did not like. But likely will just go ahead and try them. They came stock on v10 fords as a single muffler...

Trying to determine what converter I’ll need

If plan driving it hard with a stock 700r4, will have to send the torque converter out to be opened and cleaned once transmission sends its internals through it. Maybe something on the used market for now and not beat up the transmission much until decide to take care of the transmission

1985 Chevy suburban four-speed manual what LS engine should I use?

My solution for failed intank fuel pump is inline pump and some fuel injection hose with hose clamps in the bag with tools. In majority of fuel pump failure modes of intank fuel pump, an inline pump placed at the fuel filter location will pull enough fuel to get somewhere reasonable to get...

Check for 12v at the low pressure switch and verify it is closing. If pressure gets low, low pressure switch will disconnect power to the compressor

    89 Trans Am

Mostly back together on the TA. Old fuel injection rated hose was showing age, so it got replaced. Aftermarket rear bumper is too wide and does not fit all that well. Saved the original bumper and will try some repairs on it at a later time.
