1983 K5 Blazer manual rear/tailgate window handle just spins? How do you take it apart!?

the truck has a manual window, and after you unlock it, the mechanism just turns but the window doesn't go down? You need to open it up from the inside to take it apart. The carpeted panel on the inside of the tailgate is held in with some screws and then is kinda wedged in there if the gate...

    Towing heavy with my C30

Oh don't get me wrong, I've towed my fair share of sketchy loads, overloaded trucks on bad tires with sketchy brakes, etc. I once towed a car all the way to NH from western PA in my k10 'burb that only had front brakes, and the trailer brakes weren't working. But I was cautious and I left a...

    Towing heavy with my C30

Can't blame the vehicle manufacturer for the customer's lack of maintenance on their trailer. The thing that costs lives are the owners who neglect their trailers to the point where the point where the brakes stop working. The trailer obviously isn't designed to help you get going, that's the...

New - Reproduction OEM Floor mats

Yeah or blue. I still have my original blue ones for the 'Burb (front and rear bench) but they're so chalky and degraded I just use them to keep water from flowing through the holes in the top of my CJ7. Doesn't do much but better tan keeping that falling apart crap in my square

    Nickel Plating

kind of yes and no. A longer dwell time will lead to more attacing to the surface but if there's not enough nickel in the solution, there's just not enough. Not like if you leave it in there for a year eventually every last molecule will find its way onto your part. There are also negatives...

    Nickel Plating

Seriously though dude for just throwing something together yourself I'd say you did alright! And yes I would also assume you'd need more nickel. Hah, and by no means am I a pro, I only did it for a couple months as a teenager. But yeah I suppose that's still more experience than your...

    Nickel Plating

That solution should be a much darker emerald green, probably pretty diluted. May have something to do with why you didn't get a great coating. Also a raw nickel coating is not shiny, it will come out looking like a matte grey color (maybe "semi gloss" in some situations), needs to be polished...

So I guess this is my Trans Am build thread now...

Yep, pretty much sums it up. Though I wouldn't go by stickers nowadays, it would be so easy for someone to slap the wrong sticker on there when doing a restoration. Though stock for stock you are correct. Take my car for example, shaker hood says obviously not an '81, but hey surprise it's...
