Anyone used the old ash tray for something (else) that's interesting?

@89suburban, yeah my suburban has power everything. From door windows to tailgate window. The wire that connects to the defrost part on the window broke. I guess they never soldered them good from the factory. And my truck has the rear a/c. Wish the ac worked though I bet it would kick ass lol...

Anyone used the old ash tray for something (else) that's interesting?

@V2500burb, the first page of this thread said he has one. I personally never used or known anyone with one so I couldn't say. The mans member name is Ol' Red. Maybe he could tell you how well it's made and how big of a drink can fit in it.

Anyone used the old ash tray for something (else) that's interesting?

@Arrover, thank you and no problem. The only challenge to doing the bass knob in there is making it where you can remove the ashtray if needed. Other than that it took me around thirty minutes from start to finish. Whenever I can get back to the garage I'll pull it out and tear her down to show...

I know it's an old thread but this is what I did on my suburban. It's the bass control knob for my amp.

    Tbi to carb.

Hi guys I need a little help on this. I own a 1988 GMC 1500 Sierra Classic suburban with a 350tbi 700-R4 transmission 2wd. I am having problems with the distributor throttle body coil something I don't know but it's causing me tons of stress and I'm broke so I just can't throw parts at it and...

Need help... w Oil Pressure Sender

I have a set of hooker computation headers. They fit great and had no clearance issues. I also used new motor mounts and they had the 2 1/2" collector. But the factory oil pressure switch fit perfectly with the little shield thing and all on my truck. I recommend using silicone on the ends...

    Tbi engine backfire

No sir. I haven't had any codes that's why it's so confusing on to what could be causing my problem. I have gotten so aggravated with it that I'm ready to swap it to carbureted simply because I know how them systems work better. But I have no money to do the swap that's why I'm trying to fix...

    Tbi engine backfire

I don't have any check engine codes. It just runs like crap lol. I'm thinking the distributor or coil is bad. I haven't had time to go work on it or had the money to just buy new stuff so I'm hoping I can do it cheaply lol

    Brighter aftermarket headlights

I have the dual headlights also on my suburban and let me tell you I was very skeptical on getting the headlights that lmc sells and I absolutely love them now. The "custom headlights" part number 36-0283 and 36-0284. I also got the heavy duty headlight harness they sell. The headlights it came...

Hey Jim86 I haven't been able to get to my garage to check the distributor on the truck. Is there any advice you can give me on how to test the sensors on the bracket next to the throttle body?

    Tbi engine backfire

It has the original coil from 1988 and the distributor is original also. I will double check the wires again, it is very possible for me to of crossed them by accident. I haven't even thought of checking them. Lol. This truck has made me want to burn her down cause all the stress it's caused me...

    Tbi engine backfire

Alright guys I been working on my Burban and I got the fuel pressure and readjusted the valves. It doesn't backfire while in park or neutral, when I place it into gear she will backfire. She does idle fairly rough. Me getting impatient and trying to test drive it didn't change anything. I did...

    Tbi engine backfire

@jims86, I have not been able to check fuel pressure yet. @farmerchris, I adjusted the valve lash like I have done all other small block chevy and fords by tightening down the rocker until no up or downward movement is left in the pushrod then going another half turn to set lifter preload(...

    Tbi engine backfire

According to northern auto(company I bought engine rebuild kit from) claims this camshaft is computer compatible, summit tech support says the same thing. I chose this cam because it's not supposed to require a chip or anything and it's supposed to be a RV style cam. I have replaced the knock...

Hep me ID some BBC brackets

The bracket next to the crankshaft pulley on the bottom left is to power steering pump and the bracket with the bolt sticking out on the bottom right I believe is to the a/c compressor. The one that has the camera flash glare looks like its power steering pump and a/c compressor. I'm not 100%...

Thank you for the response. Yes I do have a heated oxygen sensor on the driver side collector. The sensor is for a 1994 chevy suburban 1500 w/350tbi. It has three wires on it; two white one black. One white is ground the other is 12v switched source and the black goes to factory o2 sensor wire...
