    man i love that thing reminds me about the apache my boss used to have when i worked on his farm except his was a 58 or 59 and was 4x4 three on the tree and what a rough ride but he sold the thing before i was old enough to buy it :bawl:

    ya but the one emission guy i talked to said if i put on different manifolds or headers and removed the air pump and all the lines and covered the vaccum plug on the tbi with a cap i would be good since my truck came to PA with dual cats as a California set up but all the tech said to remove...

    the last time i removed the pump i couldnt get the thing ispected without it failing put once i get enough money i plan on removing the pump and makeing sure it looks like it never had a pump since the emission station are strict about that stuff

    onestly i love the way my cherrybomb glasspack sounds especially since my cat emptied its self out into my original muffler now the exhaust comes out in front of the rear tire Loud pipes save lives

    ya but the cat i have on the truck blew all the material out into my stock muffler now i have an empty cat with a 3" in and 3" out cherybomb to a 3 1/2" pipe from a stock duramax that now exits in front of the rear tire

    ya runs fine and the wiring is right unless u go by what chilton says and every wire should be moved back one which wont work for this truck

    arent the 2012 style trucks similar to the old square bodies even though they are cheaper made put cost twice as much

    okay just ran the truck and drove it this morning it ran real smooth at idle put once driving it studered and choked so i pulled the air cleaner off and looked at the injectors and they were fine i checked the wires and moved them around then placed everthing back on and let it sit for 11/2...

    Polishing steel

    i would use a fine steel wool like 0000 to remove any rust but becarefull u can also use household steel wool soap pad make sure to use plenty of soap and water or u could use emery cloth to get it to a satin finish then use a polishing compound to give it the desired polish

    no but once up to opperating temp should i disconect the bat. while truck is running or off at opperating temp also the wire had what looked like a fusible link

    the only wire i found was tan w/black stripe but ill check tomorrow also after i disconnected the battery for a few mins and reconnected it the truck ran fine

    just today the check engine light came on and through code 42 i have already replaced the ignition control module a year ago and checked the wires that lead to it and they looked good

    now a day people are always repainting these older trucks it might though since color options changed a little throughout years and body styles

    ya the only trucks i have seen had wood floors i had an 8ft stepside bed which are hard to find parts for so i sold and put a fleetside on it wish i would have kept the stepside it made the truck look older
