My Rear End Build For My Low Buck Street/Race Truck

Converter is aftermarket, I will change the converter after I make a engine change. The 327 build was a project for my son to learn how build a engine most people wouldn't waste their time with. We did race Sat. If you have a TQ peak @ 5200 RPM, where do you want the converter to flash?

My Rear End Build For My Low Buck Street/Race Truck

I think its important to mention I never seen high gear with the 3.07 gear, I ran through in second gear. When I ran 13s with the 3.07 gear I was fully hooked up (no spin) with the open rear end with a 30X9 radial slick with 30 PSI. 2.17 60 foot. The 327 really didn't like the 3.07 gear, really...

Were going to find out if I got a high altitude 12 sec truck Saturday.........

Will this produce the results I want

A truck has a lot of loses in the drive train, on a calibrated chassis dyno I don't think you will get there with that engine combination. IMO chassis dyno numbers mean nothing, but are only good for tuning the entire combination.

Moving to the front of the truck now, I have my rotors machined for a 5 on 4/3/4 pattern, 15x3.5 lightweight rims with Moroso tires going on, looking forward to seeing what this does for my ET!

My Rear End Build For My Low Buck Street/Race Truck

Yes Woodburn Oregon, I've raced there before, very fast there. Thanks for the nice comments. I live in Colorado Springs and Thousand Oaks Ca, right now in Colorado. My first series of modifications netted a reduction of 9 tenths of a second and 3 3/4 of a MPH. I still have the light weight...

My Rear End Build For My Low Buck Street/Race Truck

When I first installed the new rear end I had HORRIBLE wheel hop, I reset all the drive shaft angles, negative 3.7 degrees @ the differential, clamped the springs, smoothly just blows the tires off in 3 gears now with zero wheel hop with street tires.....now the question is what will it do at...

My Rear End Build For My Low Buck Street/Race Truck

Well phase 1 is done, rear end install with suspension work along with driveshaft angles aligned, with drive height set I still have the aluminum drive shaft to install, and light weight front rims, but I will test these changes one at a time. Going to the track Friday night.

    Drum brakes on a 1979 Big 10?

Thanks for the info, actually my rotors are very free turning, just need to get the 15X3.5 rim on there.

    Drum brakes on a 1979 Big 10?

I was thinking my caliper would hit the back of the rim, but after looking at it again I think it will clear, redrilling my rotors for 5/4 3/4 pattern.

    Drum brakes on a 1979 Big 10?

    1. Room for a 15X3.5 draglite rim 2. Less drag 3. Weight

My Rear End Build For My Low Buck Street/Race Truck

My rear end build has come to an end, now I have to science all the rear suspension out in order to use the new rear end, feels like its trying to pitch the drive shaft, the pinion angle is wrong......it never ends.
