    To drop the column down further you can loosen the two nuts in the engine bay right where the column comes through the firewall. That will aid in letting the column come down a bit more. They are the same size as the nuts that attach under the dash.

    You can use the 4X10 to 6X9 adapter to to put the wider 6X9s in the stock bracket without having to pull them out, measure, grind away, test fit, grind again, etc. I've never used them but it looks like they just screw in to the stock speaker bracket.     TH400 stalls in any gear

    Ok, got the solution for this. I need a new column. I unhooked the transmission from the steering column at the advice of a neighbor and tried shifting again. Stalled immediately so the problem is in the column and not the tranny, thankfully. This will be a lot easier to fix.

    Nothing looks to be on. Except when I hit the brake pedal I can see one of the instrument lights turn on, the right turn signal light, and the light in the transfer case cover comes on. Dont know if that means anything.

    It really is a nice truck. I think it was someones hunting rig as there was still what appeared to be a gun rack in it. Now its in my garage :happy107: It didnt even have a smell. Might have had something to do with someone taking the front doors. Still, its a shame.
