NP203, NP205, NP208 Differentiating Power to front and rear axles.
The 205 is all gears. you get the same power front and rear when in 4wd. The 203 is the one that is split 30 front 70 rear when not in 4 hi loc or 4 low loc. 4 wheel drive problems
Check the manual hubs, if the hubs are full of dirt they won't lock in correctly. When you take them apart look for metal flakes. If you find metal flakes replace the hubs. If the snap ring is gone off the end of the axle don't be alarmed it won't hurt anything.- sean1960

Rear Shackle flip

wheel hop
It might help lessen the wheel hop if you switched to 4 inch lift springs and no blocks. The blocks work as a lever allowing to much spring wrap.- sean1960

I can't tell in his photos if it's a Dana 44 or a ten bolt but the knuckles are the same. The ten bolts used in these trucks are nothing but Dana 44 clones. GM used them because they were cheaper. Here are some photos of the knuckle you need. Off Road Unlimited sells everything you need, the entire kit. Their number is (1-888-365-0244). You could go though 4 Wheel Parts and get the same kit from them. It's around $600.00, comes with the steering knuckle, drag link, left drag link end...- sean1960

Ryan you need a steering stabilizer. Check the castor and the toe-in. Check the tie rod ends. And then I would recommend dual steering stabilizers. Both of the trucks I've owned with 44's on them had to have dual stabilizers or hydraulic assist on the steering.- sean1960

Crossover steering is the way to go. You could buy a raised steering arm and a 3 inch block that bolts to the top of the knuckle. I know people using them and I've heard mostly good reviews. The only negative thing I've heard is that until you reach about 35 mph they don't help. They need time to distribute themselves were they need to be. I may still try them.- sean1960

Thanks... Yes I have considered AG's but some of those tires are very heavy. If I ever put my 2 1/2 ton axles under the truck I will definitely run tractor tires in the mud.- sean1960
