    Edelbrock 1405 carb running rich

I've had simlar issues with my 1405 Edelbrock Carby and I have tried various setups from the calibration kit. I have a very mild Crane energiser cam, Edelbrock alloy heads and roller rockers etc. I'm currently using 120-401 Jets & 068-052 metering rods @ 14 degrees initial timing, it runs pretty...

Rough Country Steering Box Frame Support

I've purchased the Rough Country steering box support brace for my truck and I have a couple of questions. I have looked all over the internet and have seem some people welding the brace on the inside of the chassis rail and others welding it to the outside of the chassis rail. Does it really...

Yes I did need to cut the inner fender only the passenger side though ,you will need a right angle drill attachment for the mounting bolt holes as there isn't enough space with the motor installed to drill them with a normal drill.

I’ve finally got around to measuring from the wheel centre to the lip on the guard, it’s 375mm or 14 and 3/4 inches. I want to drop it at least another inch or 2

    Just one more inch

My tyres are 245 wide on the front with a 35 profile and a 20 inch diameter The rear tyres are 295 wide, with the same 35 profile and 20 inch diameter. Does that make sense?

Both the front and rear tyres are the same diameter, it's only the width that is different

I may take more leafs out of the rear as I don't carry anything in the back of mine either. The wheels are Boyd Speedster 20" x 9.5" front and rear. I did originally have 18" on the front but didn't like how it looked. The tyres are 295/35/20 on the rear and 245/35/20 on the front. I can't get a...

Thanks Sovereign, mine measures at 682mm (26.85 inches) and the rear is sitting at 730mm (28.7 inches) I've taken the over ride rear leaf and 1 more leaf out of the rear suspension. I have attached an old pic of the rear before I took out the leafs. Do I go drop shackle with it? These were the...

I'm in a similar position to you Sovereign, although I don't have drop spindles in the front of mine. I want to go an inch lower all round, but not too sure on what to do with the front. The coils have been cut by the previous owner at some stage.......

    Upgrade order

I've just been through the process of installing what you are wanting to do. I'd do it all in one go if money allows you to, I think it cost me around $2,500-$3,000 for Edelbrock heads, Crane Cam, Crane lifters, crane roller rockers, timing chain and pushrods. It has certainly "woken" the motor...

Lowering front springs and rear shackles

I want to lower the front and rear of my truck a bit more, I’m running 20” front and rear wheels. As it sits now is how the previous owner set it up Do I need to buy drop spindles for the front or can I remove half a coil on each spring? Rear has been flipped by previous owner and I have taken...

    81 C10 383 stroker stinks

My new 350 with alloy heads, cam and edelbrock carb does exactly the same thing, smells rich as f$%k but isn't running rich. I'm about to install a new exhaust and see if that helps at all. And I'm getting that black sooty looking crap coming out of the exhaust as well when its cold.

I prefer to keep the steering original and on the LHS, it's more authentic that way in my opinion. My truck is a '82 model
