    You usually can't see the caliper piston retract. Pressure is released and the slight movement of the disc moves the pads out of contact minutely.

    I would try to find a used system. I pulled the complete inner and outer heater box assemblies out of a 73 donor truck. Complete with controls. Pretty simple. My83 had a gutted ac system. Bolts straight in.

    Not being there, it's tough to say. I always do one side at a time so I can use the other side as a reference. Springs are a bugger. Vise grip and arm power are my go to. I haven't started on mine yet as I'm in the middle of bodywork, but did a corrola yesterday. No idea your experience...

    I am running g 35's on my K20. Normal driving I have no rubbing issues. Not an off road hero, just setting it up for regular DD use.

    I have Hagerty on a 1950 Ford F1 and a 1968 Chevelle also. All they asked for were pictures, if it stored indoors, and my value. Odd fact, when I checked for a quote on my 1983 K20, which i valued at 1\4 - 1\3 of either of the others, it was higher. Not sure why.
