    Ok...I think I understand although I think I was getting contact on the dash. I made up a jumper wire with an alligator clip on one end and I soldered a small gauge nail to other end. Ought to be able to make good contact in those connectors. I'll mess with it again when our new snow stops...

    Jerry, Not sure where I'm supposed to attach the ground. I just clipped the test light to the edge of the dash and now I'm thinking I should have attached it to the connectors. Your diagrams aren't very clear on that.

    Rechecked.....I wasn't sure I was in the right wires. Turning the module over, I see that the gray wire was in the 4th position on the motor side and in the 5th position on the switch side, as your troubleshooting pictures show.

    Thanks. My truck has speakers in all three holes. Obviously, the PO added the 3.5" speaker to the center hole. At best, my sound is "OK" and I thought this larger speaker might enhance it a bit.

    Exactly where does this mount? In my '86, I have three speakers across the top of the dash. The PO put a 3.5" in the center hole. Is this where your speaker goes?

    I do appreciate the responses, Fellas. Gives me something to think about. As for the filter, I have no idea as I don't do my oil changes. I shined a light and all I see is that it's black in color. Filters are cheap...maybe I'll replace it and see what happens. Thanks, again.

    Hey! Thanks for the response. Ok, sounds like two shroud bolts on the bottom and two on top. Easy enough. Yeah, the two halves of the shroud are attached with heavy duty staples, maybe three on each side. I really didn't want to tear them out. Thanks, again
