    Reversing the primer seemed to make priming much quicker, but on the even cylinders the only rockers that primed where 2 and 8 exhaust only. I was periodically rotating the crank while priming.

    while the tool is priming no oil pressure shows on the dash. The dizzy only fits all the way in if I get the pump drive lined up right so I am assuming it is engaged.

    Hey folks Ive got a new harmonic balancer and ive got to many marks and number goin on here. to set initial timing am I using the numbers on the damper or the line? Also my pointer on my timing cover has numbers to. Where am I aligning there?

    The numbers were still visible so i figured it wasnt decked much if it was at all. The gasket i had was a raised plastic/rubber one. I pulled the intake back off. Is there a way to check if my clearances are good for my intake to heads...?

    I have aftermarket valve covers for my carbed vortec engine. The old covers had one hole for pcv and one for the oil cap/breather. The new valve covers have one extra hole, same size as breather. What shall I do with it. thanks Ya'll Jake

    The engine isnt quite stock, but its just a daily driver truck. I bought new gaskets and new bolts that have the sealant on them, already have one gasket swapped out, but its 20 degrees here so Im preparing myself to do the other tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys.

    The head was rebuilt, I used the 1094 but it was just a metal shim gasket, should I have sprayed it with something? I used all the same head bolts, and I chased the threads so I got proper torque. Was I suppose to put something on the threads of the bolts?

    The threads are a different size the hole on the vortex heads is smaller, Guess I will order a new one.

    My new 906 vortecs have a hole on the exhaust port side between cylinder 1 and 3 that I dont know what to put in. The other head has the whole but that one on the old heads was just plugged.

    Those all have the two holes im talking about, they are on only one side of the intake and next to the carb ports. Are they just bolt holes I dont need to use?
