    Vent window rubber

Has anyone changed out the vent window rubbers? Bitch isn't it? I see one must remove a rivet to get the window out of the frame in order to install the rubber, what sort of rivet did you use? I have steel pop rivets, but don't like the looks of them. Has anyone used anything different? Bob

    Help please! Hood wont open!

I spent two hours yesterday getting my hood open after the cable became disconnected. I drilled a small hole directly under the lever so in the future I can insert a long skinny screwdriver in it and move the release lever. Where can one buy that clip on the end of the lever that connects the...

    cowl vent fasteners

I mean the metal cover over the leaf screen, that filler piece between the back of the hood and the windshield. There are 5 plastic tapered pins that go in holes right below the windshield, they keep that panel from flapping about. I have the screws for the leading edge, I need the pins for the...

    cowl vent fasteners

I just removed the cowl vent panel on my '81 C10, that body part between the back of the hood and the windshield. Seems to have used some plastic push in studs to secure it to the cowl itself, anyone know where one can find them? Checked the obvious and no luck so far. Thanks bob

Valve covers & engine covered in oil

I'd say an 1/8th of quart is normal, oil evaporates, gets by rings and valve stems, gets by crank seals, it's the nature of oil. You would shortly have a seized engine if the oil didn't lubricate these moving surfaces. I've never seen an engine that didn't get the oil film on it. I'd love it if...
