What if I was to remove the choke fuse and connect a straight piece of wire or metal? If I go with a manual choke, will the choke light always be on because I'm missing the electric choke? I think if I ever want an electric choke, i'll probably have to get another carb. I've streamed...- jgasca

All fuses checked out fine. Every time I ground the wire that goes to the electric choke, my 20 amp fuse to the choke blows. Maybe I misunderstood you on what wire to ground.- jgasca

I'll check more into this tomorrow but if I recall correctly, the choke light does not turn on when the ignition is turned (truck is off). The choke light only turns on after the truck is fired up, and it remains on. I'm looking around the web to see if I can find the proper electric choke for...- jgasca

I unplugged this and the choke light turned off. Should I leave this unplugged being that I don't have an electric choke? I'm thinking of just throwing on the stock 4bbl carb and just swap out the intake. This conversion crap is kicking my ass- jgasca

Yes sir. I'll be ordering that soon. I ran into another speed bump. I got all my gauges to work but the choke light & buzzer stays on. I unplugged the bulb from the choke light and that disables all my gauges. Someone please help, I'm close to just giving up. :(- jgasca

Again correct me if I'm wrong but the the lights inbetween the speedometer and the gas gauge are 4-wheel drive, choke, seat belt, and brake.- jgasca

Wow turns out your right. I cleaned and reclamped the circuit behind the cluster and now all my gauges work except my battery gauge (Which was working before I took it apart. Got it! So i took apart the cluster and tested the circuit laying behind the cluster for continuity. So i'm thinking its my gauges that dont work. Any easy way to test each gauge? The ground wire connected to the steering column is going into the wire harness you say goes to the dash. The ground wire connected to the strip next to the E-Brake goes underneath the floor mat (the layer next to metal) and looks likes its going into the 4wd transfer case- jgasca

I took everything off the 305 and I only sent the core. I kept the intake as well. The 305 was missing some vacuums that seemed to go to the 4bbl carb. And no we don't need to pass emissions here in New Mexico. The connector near the distr fits the two prong oil pressure switch. As you can...- jgasca

I'm gonna try getting my oil pressure to work before I even try following the vacuum diagram, like I said I'm not sure which part is which but I'll do my best. I think all i want is to have the main vacuums and wires connected, if anything else is optional I won't be worrying about it just yet.- jgasca
