    I guess one last question. Lol. I'm running a 150 amp breaker between the battery and the alternator. What rating fusible link did you use running to your ignition system? The Chilton's schematics don't specify a rating on that guy.

    Alright the old alternator wires lead back to one of the red wires and the brown one. Then the other red one ran to a power distribution block on my firewall. I'm guessing these two thicker red wires are my "power ins". I'm just looking at schematics to try to figure out the brown wire.

    I see what you did there. Makes perfect sense. I'm all over it! I just need to see a hats up with those "power in" wires on the bulkhead. Man, thanks again. This forum is the best. There's no way I could've down this swap without you guys.

    I'll trace the old alternator wire back and see where she goes. Hopefully that ties into the bulkhead to the "power in" wires.

    Good to know. I don't have cruise but sure sounds like my HVAC controls require the vacuum.

    I guess it doesn't make sense to connect my factory truck harness to the rear terminal of the alternator. The rear terminal supplies power to the battery to charge it? Am I correct here?

    Is this vacuum bowl required any longer on my truck now that I'm running an LS3/4L80E? I've read that there's a vacuum line that supplies the HVAC unit in the cab but I can't see any vacuum lines going through the firewall. Was this only for trucks with AC? Mine doesn't have AC. Thanks!

    It's me again, I'm getting so close to being able to fire this truck up. Anyone know where I could find a key on, cranking power wire on my 87'? ( I need a cranking power, not just switched power) I'm guessing it would be around the ignition area? Thanks again guys, you're a wealth of knowledge!

    Haha sorry for all the posts. I've got my engine and trans all wired up with PSI harness. Can anyone let me know what else I may need to wire with the factory truck harness? I have the wires for the coolant temp and oil pressure wired but that's it. There's still a lot of wires to sort...

    I've got my motor all wired up now with a PSI harness. Now I'm sorting out the factory truck wiring. Does anyone know what this electric connection is that is mounted to the firewall that is above and to the right of the heater core hoses? Is it a relay for something?
