    Thanks guys youre givin me a couple good places to start. I'm not sure if the starter solenoid got completely destoyed when this happened. Ton of smoke was comin from it so I'm going to assume that it needs to be replaced. Yes the key was in the on position when this happened.

    The fuseable links on the firewall? I hooked wiring up from the battery to that n turned the key on n it fried that wire too lol. Has to be a bad ground somewhere

    Ok so me and my buddy had it running last week. Good sign there. No knocking around the bottom end. Should mean all the internals are still in decent shape. The oil's leakin from the back of the intake manifold where it mates to the block somehow.. Also got the timing set dead on. Still cranking...

    Neutral Dropout?

    Have a TH400 in my 79 C20. Whenever I'm around 25 to 30 mph and let off the gas it seems like it drops out of gear.. Is this a feature of some th400s or is this i sign of a worn band? Truck goes like a bat outta hell!

    I'm hoping to figure out what caused the loss of oil soon! If it wasn't -18 out with a -40 windchill I'd be out trying to figure it out right now. As far as the engine dying I am now starting to think that was the battery taking a dump finally. Brought that battery in (was 800 ccas when new)...

    Turns out the rotor in the distributor caught the cap and tore up the distributor. So I sunk a new dizzy in (on warranty of course) I'm waitin for it to warm up before I try to do any more work on her...

    It was usually when it was warm. Hard to say now since its been so damn cold these last couple days.. :/ hopefully it didnt seize on me. Hate to find out that all that work went to shit and that i have to find a new motor

    Yeah it dropped the oil pressure to 0! There was nothin' on the dipstick when I checked it so that got me worried. That would make sense that the relay would shut the fuel pump off, someone explained that to me before just slipped my mind.

Is this a common problem or would it be caused from the truck being moved from outside where it's freezing to the garage...
