Ya the pressure sending unit on driver side, top of the block, that screws into the brass fitting. Looking for a two prong unit. So I had an oil leak since I got the truck a couple months ago. Turns out it's coming from inside the oil pressure sending unit. The unit itself looks to be a 3 prong with the middle prong pulled out and that's where the oils leaking through. The plug on the truck side is 2 prong. No place for...- firebird

The 1/4 windows are pretty tough on my 87. Im getting the truck painted soon. Whats required to scrap the 1/4 window and have one big piece of glass? Is it a custom size of glass and can i use my existing window track? And what about window seal? If its a big pain then ill forget it and find new...- firebird

Are Drip Rails necessary?
PO had them off when he got the truck painted. Took me awhile to realize they were gone lol. Too me it looks better without them but like i said i didn't notice for awhile. As for adverse effects from weather, my truck sits in the barn every night- firebird

3/4 clutch pack clearances were way to tight. I guess not allowing the spray to freewheel in 4th. The builder bought the clutches and kit and dropped it in, didn't think about it. Removed a plate replaced with thinner one and clearances checked and trans is in the truck and working. What a...- firebird

Okay update. Trans builder had check ball in wrong spot. I guess that's why it wore the band out. And we are back to the initial issue of no 4th gear. Shifts 1-2-3 and then no proper 4th. It holds you back like I initially said, like the brakes are on. Then downshifts fine when you let off...- firebird

Was away on holidays but got back to the truck today. Pulled the tranny at the transmission builders shop. Band was toast. He's going to troubleshoot why it burned up in 10 min.- firebird

TVs been all the way in and out one click at a time and disconnected. The cooler lines were disconnected and drained when old trans come out. Oil looked clean so never bothered to flush. Update- reconsidered last night and figured we didn't over temp the tranny it was just hot to touch pan. Did not burn the oil. Saturdays trial and error: Checked oil level- over full cold- drained 1L- started truck and warmed up- re added 1 L and dipstick red fine in "HOT"- level stayed the...- firebird

Going to head out in 10 min. Put 5 litre in before starting, had a half litre in the torque converter to start. Then slowly added with it running probably wasn't up to road temp. First thing I'm going to check is TV cable again and oil level. 3rd just felt like you had the brakes on...- firebird

Got a 700r4 with a lock up switch on the dash in my 87 (3/4 ton, 350sbc). It was missing second gear. Bought a supposedly rebuilt 700 (seals, gaskets looked fresh. Yes missing everythin cab side up.I think I'm missing 13,17,21,12,11,9. PO even had the wrong knob on the lever lol. Jetman. As for shift issues Ill take a look tonight while it's out.
