what drop kit or combination of lowering parts are y'all using?

I had the same reservations that you are having before I bought these control arms. Rest assured, I beat the living crap out of this truck. When its safe or when I'm tracking, I will take corners at very high rate of speed that these trucks were never designed to do. So far they've held up...

    Tubular control arms

From what I've read, it's not the greatest design, but I've also never heard of them (CPP uppers) failing. So far, so good. Cross my fingers lol Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Tubular control arms

I have CPP upper and lowers. Definitely more camber, but not weight. They actually weigh more then the stamped OEM arms, but are built very well. No doubt they are much stronger, and look great on top of it. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    TH400 Oil cooler Pan

I ditched the factory by going to a Griffin manual trans radiator. I then went straight to the fin and tube cooler. Along with the deep finned aluminum pan, this tranny never runs hot. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Tires and Snow...

I have had 6 sets of General Grabber at 2's. I Drive through Tahoe a couple months out of the year during the heavy snow season, and in my opinion having on both tires, the generals are much better in the snow. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Short bed side exit exhaust?

Not the best picture, but you can see how much room there is with the saddle removed. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

    Short bed side exit exhaust?

Everything can be tucked pretty tight with the tanks gone. All of my pipe is 3" Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

    Short bed side exit exhaust?

Also to note, my saddle tanks are long gone. I was able to tuck the pipes up tighter. I'll get some pics later today. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

    Direct swap bucket seats?

I have the procars and the brackets. Let me warn you before you buy them. You will be cutting and welding the brackets. They sit about 3" too high. My head was almost hitting the roof. Don't get me wrong, they are nice seats. But, unless you're 5'6, you'll be modifying brand new brackets. Sent...

    Small block 400

.030 is fine for working the truck. My father in law went to 406ci in his 78, and that truck is strictly for work. Dump runs, lumber hauls, towing, etc. Stock cooling system seems to handle it fine. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

    Small block 400

Dude, relax. They don't produce 400 crate motors because they haven't produced the blocks in over 30 years. I have a 406, with Sportman 2 heads, and 5.7 rods. I'm upgrading to AFR's this summer. In 10 years the motor never ran any hotter then my 355 with the stock cooling system. I have a...

    Small block 400

I respectfully disagree. 5.7 rods, good heads (iron heads are fine), and a nice cam on a 400 will put better numbers down then a 350 or 377 any day of the week. The low end grunt, which is what the truck will need, will be at least 450 ft/lbs. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

any luck with World Products or Dart heads?

Pricey for sure! My truck is paid off this year, so I'll have some extra coin. As long as the kids have food and clothes, and the Mrs. see's the house payment is in, I'm in the clear.

any luck with World Products or Dart heads?

I currently have Sportsman 2's on my 406. They are nice heads for the price, 2.02/1.60's etc. My truck runs great, and I have no complaints. With that said, I am moving up to AFR Eliminators later this year. But, if they are what he says they are, go for it. Would work well with the 383.

    Sea foam ... cleaner

Our fleet mechanic has been using it on our trucks for 8+ years. Never needed to replace o2 sensors. Don't think it will hurt anything IMHO
