    Help! No lights!

If I remember correctly the head light switch is fed via a fuseable link that comes off the battery stud on the starter.

    Truck cap

I got a really ugly one for you but the distance may be a problem. It's got a nice green tint right now. It comes with a 4X8 sheet of plywood bolted to cab and top. Good for putting a grill, lawn chair, cooler up there and having a cook out. Your neighbors will really be envious.

    Power window separated relay

That works and it's cheaper than the kit but would be hell on the passenger side without a passenger. :)

    Power window separated relay

You can do it either way. In his instructions you tap off the pink power wire at the door switch. This way you are not having to run any extra wire. The goal here is to not pull the volts/amps thru the switch for window motors. I did a complete re-wire of my 74 so I pulled the wires for this...

I am going to install the Vintage AC in my 1979

Did the install on a 74 with factory air. Not too bad, still got to do the duct work, compressor lines and charge the system. A thread about it here. http://www.gmsquarebody.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10317

Manual to power locks and windows

I think you will need to drill the inside hole. I had to do both on my 74. I have no idea about the dimple. Here is a pic of my 86 that came with PW/PL. Notice on the passenger side kick panel wall there is a large hole for the PW stuff. If I remember correctly the hole for the door jamb switch...

Manual to power locks and windows

You will need to drill new holes for the PW/PL wiring thru the door jamb. Some say there is a dimple showing you where to drill but this was not the case on my 74.

    Power window separated relay

Did this to my 74. Do a search on this site for "Power window mod". From the un-named site. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=470949 Was too lazy to make mine so I got this kit from this guy. I got the express window down kit also. Not cheep but nicely made...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

She would get over it, all it takes is something shinny from the local jewelers. Been with her for more than 30 years so she is use to my bullshit. Saw that but it looks like it can be removed without major body work. I have a 350/5 speed TBI setup that needs a good home. Looking for a...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

May go look at this one. Price is a little high. If the interior looks as good as the outside and can negotiate the price down then ........ http://charleston.craigslist.org/cto/5006346974.html the wife will not talk to me for a few weeks. Not like that is a bad thing.

Also seen it from not using knurled starter bolts.

Starter bolt mount - not straight and not staggered? Huh?!!

Can't hurt to try a repair. Never seen a successful repair of the area. Seen a few tries but in the end it seems to either break again or throw the starter out of alignment with the flexplate/flywheel causing the ring gear teeth to be destroyed.

Starter bolt mount - not straight and not staggered? Huh?!!

Looks like the starter mounting portion of the block is missing. Should look like this.

    Spring Compressors needed?

Get a length of chain that allows free movement of the control arm. Thread the chain thru the spring and control arm and bolt the chain ends together. This will keep the spring somewhat contained if things go sideways.

    Cowl Wiper Panel

I did a quick search of the usual parts suppliers and didn't see them listed. Best bet is the salvage yard. There is two of them one on each side. They are located close to the outer edge of the wiper cowl. You should see two elongated holes in the firewall where they go. They are plastic and...

    Cowl Wiper Panel

There is two studs on the windshield side of the cowl. There is one larger bolt lurking on each side hiding under the foam that covers the hood hinge. Lift the front of the cowl and pull it towards you to release the studs. It can be a little tricky to remove with the hood in place. I have seen...
