    Yeah, but Quads look way cooler! FWIW, if you look at the GM parts book the quad shocks have different part numbers than the dual shocks. If you look at most aftermarket catalogs they use the same main shock in both applications and just add a second shock for the quads.

    Smart man. You have no idea how many people I see tear into a snotty POS with all kinds of road grit and slime on it. It not only makes them gross to work on, it pretty much guarantees you're going to contaminate the job. Someone pre-cleaning is the exception when it should be the rule.

    Chevy bolt pattern shouldn't change on a small block. I know the LS engines are missing one of the bolts, but otherwise the pattern is still the same.

    That's where the factory put it. Get a longer bolt and make sure the rod sits all the way on the bellhousing.

    I'd still recheck the firing order of your plug wires. Replacing all that stuff shouldn't have that significant an effect on timing. Either that or you have a faulty component. And how about the cap? You didn't mention replacing the cap.

    That's correct. Hard right it's fully compressed and the rod isn't exposed. All the failures I've had have been seal leaks and I felt it was from corrosion on the rod cutting the seal. That's on a K. Not sure what the configuration is on a C, but the concept should be the same. YMMV.

    I agree with Reckless. They're not supposed to fight you in either direction. And I've never had a decent stabilizer that lasted more than a few years. Particularly not since I stopped DDing the truck. However, I find that parking with the wheels cranked all the way right helps a bit.

    Instead of muriatic acid try to find phosphoric acid. It's much milder, it strips the iron off the surface of the metal which helps prevent future rust and leaves it with something closer to a parkerized finish. I think some of the concrete preps are phosphoric. Read the labels.

    There's always hope. I saved a bunch of stuff that was underwater in Sandy and still use them today. Lots of ways to deal with it. Evaporust, wire wheel, Scotch Brite, whatever is convenient for you. And WD-40 is one of your best friends.

    If it's stuck to the shoes you should be able to pick up a slight amount of movement because of slack in the assembly. If not there may be more to it. Let us know how the unloosening goes.
