What have you done to your square lately??

Good to know, I've had my eye on the other one with the included fuel gauge too. That one looks great and I know some on here have had a good experience with it.

What have you done to your square lately??

Anybody seen this new Tach offering from LMC? There's an early years style font offered as well. http://www.classicparts.com/1979-87-Tachometer/productinfo/24-353/# They just dropped me an email of "new products," it looks nice. Could be another alternative for a Tach upgrade?

What have you done to your square lately??

Makes sense, I was thinking you might have been running the standard 454 radiator before this one, couldn't remember what the top hose looked like. Really nice install though , that v1500 is a capable machine.

What have you done to your square lately??

Agreed, looks really good. Nice install, is that a different top hose or did the older one stretch?

    New Daily Driver (Caprice)

Nice box caprice there - I can see that it can be brought back and it should do great. I agree with a lot of what's been said already: b-body cars are great. I had the Roadmaster on a weekend trip last month and there's still nothing like it- it's a TBI so no optispark there :)

    Nice!

What have you done to your square lately??

Wow, I've never seen that before. Good catch - was it acting up when you started it or did you just notice it?

serpentine conversion - worth it in a 454?

If you've got the serpentine setup on the tbi, then I'd recommend just doing it the easy way and getting one of the R4 pancake compressors that those came with. You could work with a Sanden replacement though and some modified brackets. Some folks have recommended that in the past.

What have you done to your square lately??

I feel that pain, I had the skid plate off, ran into some problems with the tank half dropped, had to bolt it all up again and try later. I was working on a suburban, the hardest part for me was getting the lines unscrewed without having good access from the top side. The tank had to be...

That's throttle body right? Dropping the tank is never fun, nice work.

What have you done to your square lately??

Harris Performance (TBI Chips) has a few thoughts on this: http://tbichips.com/?page_id=46 I've considered it as well for the R20 but haven't made any moves yet. I'm more tempted by an LS1 (LT1 much different?) fan setup because of reliability - or at least what I perceive as a more reliable...

    Bucket Seat Rebuild or Replace?

She looks great, with bumper guards too. Sweet.

    Bucket Seat Rebuild or Replace?

I think I'll be better at sewing and hog ringing by the time this is done for sure. I'm actually up in Ruston, I teach mechanical engineering up here at LA Tech. Any posts with pics of your blazer? I'd like to see the other Louisiana square.

    Bucket Seat Rebuild or Replace?

Unfortunately ... everything except the captains chairs are doing great. I checked these out at Stock Interiors just now and they said the ship only as a set. I might go the route of covers for the seats after getting the padding taken care of and putting the old covers back on...

    Bucket Seat Rebuild or Replace?

No problem - I'll do some more digging - the cushion part would be a good fit at least. If I were brave I could order the blazer set and punch a couple of holes in it for armrest access.

    Bucket Seat Rebuild or Replace?

That does look close, nice find. I inspected underneath the seat, the springs are in good shape so it is the foam that is collapsed. That plus covers could do it.

    Bucket Seat Rebuild or Replace?

I saw those but was thrown off by the Blazer title. Are they actually the same minus arm rests?

    Bucket Seat Rebuild or Replace?

Hi Everyone, My '88 has a worn out bucket seat (drivers side) and I'm not sure the best approach to take on this. I prefer the '89-91 style suburban buckets vs. the earlier ones: http://r.ebay.com/jUBfke But I could also try a rebuild of what I've already got, I've never tried to...

What have you done to your square lately??

It's got about 50k on it as best I can tell. It was used a bit for towing by the PO and that's about it. They could well be original, I was looking through old AC advertising, 70s and 80s seems about the last time the green stripes were used.

What have you done to your square lately??

I got new plugs, wires, cap and rotor in the r20 this weekend and it's running pretty well now (I've had it for a couple of months, and I've been slowly bringing it around and doing needed maintenance). I pulled these out, and they seem old to me. When was the last time AC plugs were green...

What have you done to your square lately??

I'll get some miles on them and do a little towing later and see how they hold up. I did look wistfully at those michelins though, great reputation and I think they wear like iron right?

What have you done to your square lately??

This is my first set of Yokohamas, good to hear there are some good experiences out there. I was looking at Pirellis but didn't think it was worth the extra $.

What have you done to your square lately??

Yeah, I think they should get the job done, either for me or whoever comes in the night and leaves the truck on blocks :)

What have you done to your square lately??

Those are the factory spec LT235/85R-16 I got them from tire rack for something like $125. They seemed like a good tire based on the reviews that were posted and I've been happy with them. Better than the no-name junk that I replaced for sure.
