Lares vs Cardone steering box reman not Saginaw?

I knew there was flex from seeing cracked frames. But my front end started popping a month back. Went under to check out the situation. While the wheel was being turned I was super surprised there was THAT much flex. My noise ended up being a popped rivet on the sway bar mount.

    1981 1500 5.3 LM7 Swap?

First and foremost important part of getting this swap done right. Search and read. Read and search. When you think you understand one section, research that section more. For example Fuel delivery Mounts Fuel tank Wiring Ecu Intake Throttle body Gauges Drivelines O2 sensors Headers...

    Steel Dash Removal

Like what everyone’s saying there’s a spot weld cutter. I think HF has one too. When I did mine ... I just drilled all the way through. When I welded it... I just MIG welded it up and filled up the cavity. Then sanded the lip where the windshield sits.

Need help on 79 front brakes

It was not hard to brake before you replaced the parts? That doesn’t sound right. Seems to me like maybe something was installed incorrectly. Like the pads are bound to the rotors before you even press on the brake pedal. And you forcing it down is probably just beating up the master. You bled...

    rear frame repair options

I always do diagonal cuts and plate the seam. But the real question is how much was cut of the ass end? if it was only a few inches I’d be tempted to extend the bumper brackets. but remember not to use some silly bumper mounted ball or a heavy ass industrial diamond plated bumper. I’d also go...

    What am I looking at?

OPs getting a lot of shit for asking a basic question LOL. trying to get more air into the intake is like the most common “upgrade” made. It’s not unreasonable for him to ask if removing it would help. Engineers engineered shit for smog reasons a lot and not for efficiency. And sometimes for...

Any tips for replacing the heater hose quick disconnect?

Yeah I believe it is 1/2 NPT. Not the garden hose thread. That ones a little different. But they even make 1/2NPT and the barbed other end 5/8 or 3/4. Whatever that hose is. I cannae remember. But a strait up pipe works too.

    Power door lock issue

I’m willing to part with it. I haven’t tested it but it’s a brand new one I believe. I ordered one when I was putting my truck back together. Found the original when it was enroute. I’m impatient so I mounted the original.

Dual tank switch kills the engine

Above responded most likely bad fuel pump. But above also mentioned good TS steps. you will waste a lot of money buy just buying parts, finding out it doesn’t work then asking for the next “possible” bad part. I, for one, will ask as many questions to get the total over view before making...

    Mutha trucking Vintage Air

You mounted yours low then? anything special about this relay? Can I just wire it like I would any relay? I guess I could look for one, but if you have a trusted one I’d be interested in running it. Mines just a little single cab but I’m willing to make sure my compressor doesn’t die and...

    Mutha trucking Vintage Air

Had another question for the AC people’s out there. High mount VS low mount compressors. All the trucks have the low mount compressors but I’m being told it’s a terrible idea to mount em low. Is it really that bad? Does the compressor die faster? I’d like to mount it low if I can... but will...
