I get it… there will always be a tracing job. No doubt I’ll have to track down where a lot of these go. But being new to these trucks, just hoping some of y’all might see something obvious and either point it out or make a recommendation. Snipped a zip tie and was able to make some progress in removing a few wires that weren’t terminated on either end so figured nothing can die that wasn’t already dead. Also disconnected the horn as someone had removed it from the steering wheel and relocated it to a button under the dash… I...- wildgoose

Happy Thanksgiving yall… had a minute in between turkey and football to snap a few photos of my fuse box. This truck is an 84 diesel that has been swapped to a 454. 1. Anything y’all see obvious that needs to be addressed/corrected? 2. Any idea what the broken green wire with the black plastic...- wildgoose

That reminds me I need to check and see if the reverse lights even work at all, and that’s another vote for the switch too!! Off topic, but was excited to find FB posts of my truck by previous owners from years ago when it had a totally different interior. -

Yeah you would think… by now especially… the black pull knob is confirmed a choke knob. I had my 11 year old pull/push while I watched the carb choke move. One half of my original question solved. -

3 speed manual on the floor with the granny low gear. Crossing off reverse lights… that switch doesn’t control them. It also didn’t control the dome light. Will keep looking. -

It pulls directly out about an inch and a half. My thought was a choke too… but I haven’t seen one of those since I was a kid. This engine has a carburetor so perhaps it is a choke??? If so, will need to read up on when and how it’s used. -

Thanks y’all… no idea where the current engine came from… originally this truck was a diesel with two fuel tanks but now with the Rat installed (didn’t know that term until reading it here) it only has one gas tank on left side. Someone obviously did an engine swap at some point. -
