4l80e conversion in 1985 suburban. What parts do I need?

My mechanical cluster is in mint condition and I like the charm of the old mechanical dash light glow over modern gauges. I found this speed box gps converter that might do the trick. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/SDU-A-369

4l80e conversion in 1985 suburban. What parts do I need?

Howdy all! We are building a 4l80e for the suburban and I have a sniper harness and controller coming for it to lip into our sniper II on the 461. I have two issues. I need to keep the mechanical Speedo. What does everyone use for this? I see Dakota Digital makes one but I’m not sure how the...

    Suburban tire thread (help needed)

Howdy gents, Tomorrow I put some new tires on Tina our C20 454 2wd suburban. I’m leaning towards 2 options (getting rid of the 113 flexy pirellis on it). 1. Nitto 420 staggered setup -Rear 305-40-20 F Ply 122 load 3307lbs per tire (80 psi max) - Front 275-55-20 XL 117 load 2833 lbs per tire...

Twitchy steering with a big travel trailer (rear sway bar help?)

Thanks. I was trying to get the look of these tires while getting at least 10 or 12 ply load ratings on the rear axle. The tires pictured above are too wide for the front 305-50-20 but will work with the rear (and look badass). But I will need to get then 275-50-20 for the front in the same tire...

I test fit some 12 ply tires today. What are y’all’s thoughts on 12 ply rear tires and xl front? Thinking of a staggered fitment for these tires for the hot rod farm truck look lol:

Twitchy steering with a big travel trailer (rear sway bar help?)

Thanks. The other i encountered was that 3 out of 4 tows have been in 20-40 mph winds. I know that has a lot to do with it as well.

Twitchy steering with a big travel trailer (rear sway bar help?)

With the shackle drop on the rear springs, this rear end squats like crazy with the trailer attached. Without the airbags aired up, the tongue weight drops 100 pounds. Once the bags are aired north of 50 psi and the weight distribution hitch is setup, it’s displaying 3k worth of weight tension...

Twitchy steering with a big travel trailer (rear sway bar help?)

Driving it home tonight even without a trailer I can feel the light twitch in the steering. It’s almost like it tracks and darts quickly from one side to another in a short amount of steering wheel turn but drives straight down the road. Maybe I need to look at my alignment.

Twitchy steering with a big travel trailer (rear sway bar help?)

Thanks for the response. The empty weight on the trailer at the scales was around 8600. Im assuming that we probably add 1000 pounds once loaded but I need to verify this. Typically my tounge weight measures in between 875-950 pounds based on the tongue weight scale I have. Once this is set, I...
