    Wiring Harness journal

I updated the post on the PF4 forum BTW. Was a dum dum moment on my end, I had a popped fuse

    Wiring Harness journal

I actually did purchase that already, along with the GPS speedo module and the shift indicator module. It's all been sitting in a box here in my office for months now, waiting for the rewire to finish

    Wiring Harness journal

Back with another update. Almost exactly a year to the day after I started - (I know, I dragged ass. Not knowing what I'm doing, plus 110 degree summers with no shade, plus stopping midway through to completely rebuild my steering column all contributed) - I finally got the battery dropped back...

How is everyone making their wiring look not a mess under the hood.?

I'm STILL in the middle of a complete wiring harness, going on better part of a year now. BUT, I did buy Painless' looming as well. It's a pain to install, but looks great and keeps the wiring protected

    Firewall Steering Column grommet

If it makes you feel any better, I had to tear mine down and reassemble probably 5 or 6 times till I had it right. On top of that, I collapsed my shaft trying to beat it into place, so then had to tack weld the shafts together. I used the same lower bearing you did

    Daisy chaining grounds?

I'm currently rewiring my 77 K10 completely, and have started to make sure all the grounds are good. I've installed a few ground lugs at a few places. One at the driver side fender, one on passenger side frame and another at the frame towards the rear. I'll be installing another shortly behind...

    Neutral safety switch connector

For anyone that stumbles on this in the future, the advice I got from Painless tech support was to cut the connector off and use generic spade connectors.

I just used the normal stuff, it's worked pretty good so far

Good info. I bought a pair of those, but 99 percent of my connections have been soldered and shrink tubed

Must Replace Battery Tray 87 V10

I replaced mine, plus added a second on the driver side. It wasn't terrible. I think I had to drill a hole through the fenderwell on both sides to bolt in the leg brace, otherwise was easy

    Wiring Harness journal

Got most of the interior harness done today, including wrapping up and stowing any if the wires I'm not planning on using for right now. I have a few things left inside to do, including figuring out how to make the neutral safety switch work, as the provided connector doesn't fit my switch...

    Neutral safety switch connector

I am finishing up a Painless harness on my 77 K10. I've been working on the cab interior wiring, but cannot get the neutral safety switch connector from the harness to connect. I replaced the switch itself with a brand new one when I rebuild my column earlier this year. It looks like there's a...

    Digital Gear Indicator

    Digital Gear Indicator

By the way it's really not terrible to tear down the column, especially if it needs work anyway

    Digital Gear Indicator

I will. I'll get around to it eventually. Getting ready to start on cab wiring here pretty soon

    Digital Gear Indicator

A few months back I bought the Digital Dokota gauge setup as well as the shift indicator package, but haven't had a chance to install yet. The review videos all seem good

    Wiring Harness journal

Little done today. Got the rear wiring finished up. Dual tank fuel valve and tailight wiring finished and loomed. Rear tailights, license plate lights, front side markers and front parking lights all replaced and wired up. Little bit left to do in the engine bay, and then on to the cab

Finished up dual battery installation, working well.

Nice!! I have installed the second battery tray, but haven't pulled the trigger on the dual battery setup yet. Hopefully sometime next year

    Wiring harness options

I'm in the middle of installing a Painless kit now. I am terrible at electrical, but the instruction book is priceless in helping me. If you look at my posts, you can find an installation journal I've been working on with progress
